I made an account on MyAlganon.com and registered on the forums after. Yet on my forum account I cannot edit my profile, neither can I post. This is what I get each time:

I have succesfully opted into the Alganon Beta, how long can it take untill the account gets allowed into the Beta?

u must be fresh of the wow bandwagon on mmos. when in close4d beta they select people for it u just dont get in cause u applied.more games u have beta tested before better chance u have of getting in a closed beta

The myAlganon and the forum boards are (ATM) seperate. Meaning you have to register for both. They are working on joining both systems, but atm unfortunatly they work independantly of each other.
As for beta, well that may or may not happen. Just signing up in no promise of a beta invite. Multiple signups wont help you though. Quest will add more people to beta as they need to stress test etc. There should be an open beta pretty soon though so keep your eye on the forums over there.
