Hey, I am currently receiving gameguard error 320 every time I run Aion.  I have been searching for over 2 hours now and from what I've read this was supposed to stop after the OB launched.  My friend is currently able to login and choose his server and all that and doesn't get this error.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.  I've been googling forever now but I cant find anyone who knows what to do if this problem persists after the ob launch when aion and gameguard are supposed to be synced.

So far, I have deleted the gameguard folder which didnt fix the problem. I also had my friend send his own gameguard folder so that I knew I would be up to date but it didn't work.

If anyone knows the solution to my problem or anything i can try I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Probably a stupid question but have you got the latest version (1.5.0.3) rather than the original OB release (1.5.0.1)?

I have the same problem. Does anyone know if you are a member of Fileplanet, if they need to send you a reg number? If so, I never got one. Can't log on and that gamegaurd thingy keeps wanting to install. (which I wont allow) Is that manditory to run the game?

If you can't kill it, don't make it mad.

Yes. Gameguard is required for Aion to run. VERY bad decision on NCsofts part, but thats how it is.<shrug>

Fileplanet should have sent you a reg key. Check your emails spam filter.

Also, try run with administrator privilege if you are not doing it already.

I am not sure if I would call this GG issue, but mine run perfectly smooth.

Thanks Wraithone, Guess I'm out of luck. Must have missed the key if Fileplanet sent it. Oh well

Still waiting for those instructions as to how to add exceptions to GG.  In the meantime, if you don't mind, I'll take your advice with a pinch of salt.

Yes, you have to use GG.  GG does not destroy your computer like people say, people just rather believe a software remain faulty when GG already released patchs and taught people how to set stuff as exceptions.

I patched and used GG correctly, and thus, GG works for me and not against me now.  Solutions are right there at people's finger tips, they simply does not look for it.

Here is one page that teach to how and related information on issues with firewall configuration and such.

There are more, but I think it would be easier if people just google or yahoo or w/e they use to search for information.

Edit:  Search engines are there for you to use.  Also I cannot give a generalized instruction, your computer may have different softwares than mine, so you have to find solution related to the ones you use.  I got nothing further to say.

Sorry, but that is not what you said and neither does it fix the problems you say are so easy to fix.  You basically told people that they could add exceptions to GG, not to firewalls.  Adding GG to firewall exceptions does not really do anything, as problems are caused by clashes with GG and AV detecting software not doing proper things.  You do not know how to add exceptions to GG because you can't.  I'm not sure why you said that you could.

Scroll down, on that page, if you don't use those AV brand, search for instructions on the ones you do use.  Even GG FAQ tell people about these things.

I am not here to solve your problems for you, I simply pointed out there are solutions out there.

Those instructions are pretty easy imo, it doesn't even require programming knowledge.  If the ones on that page does not fit your needs find the ones that do since I have no idea how you configure your firewall or if you used additional firewall softwares from commercial companies.

Sorry, I am going to go cry.  If it does not work, turn the damn programs off, i am not going to explain how AV works since that is even easier to find.  I am not going to explain how a virus work since those are also easy to find.

It is time to switch with my friend, my turn to see what changed in version 1.5

And no, I am not even being agro atm, just fraustrated like a high school teacher.

Uh?  Read my email again.  I don't want you to solve my problems (I don't have any at the moment as I'm not even trying to log on)_.  What you are doing though is coming out with mixed, unhelpful and just downright wrong advice (you said you can add exclusions to GG) and then having a go at people when you confuse them.  I realise you're just trying to help, but I don't understand why you follow up with aggro.  I honestly think that it would be more helpful if you either maior just didn't try and help (ior at least admit when you communicate badly)

If you've been following Aions development, you would note that certain parties get VERY irate and aggressive when anything that might even be vaguely critical is mentioned. Given their sentence structure and word usage, english isn't their first language. ^^ You should have seen some of the threads dealing with some of the Gameguard issues...

I'm here to make an update on this problem.  I've reinstalled the game and it is now fixed.  So anyone with a similar problem give that a shot.

Thanks for the input but my post was a response to linrens behaviour across several different threads.  I totally understand when English isn't a first language and communications get confused (it is barely my first language ;) ), but that isn't the case here.  I have indeed seen plenty of threads dealing with GG issues and most of them helpful even when the author happens to be a fan..  What I take exception to is people like linren basically making up solutions that prove their point then changing their story later on when they are called out, not to mention his/her aggression when it transpires that the rest of the world does not confirm to their experiences directly.   That is not helpful, and it is not constructive.  But anyway, I've had my rant now so I'll put my toys back in my pram and so no more on the matter.
