The NCSoft rep that posts on Aionsource said that email should not have gone out and to ignore it. So now you have some fairly large group (I assume) of people who can't access the game .. because they have to change the password they had already picked. WTF? I have never played, beta'd etc a game that ever did this..
And... nobody knows until the day open beta starts and nobody can access account management.
I'm not "upset" as I was playing DAoC with my guild today... its just the point that to have a job you used to have to be competent at it. This is really... just sad.. imho.
Once upon a time the person(s) who were given the task to let people know they were supposed to do this... would no longer have jobs. Especially in the current job market where they are easily replaced.
Heck one place I worked when a person did something similar to this.. they didn't fire them. They just made them call every customer they had affected and apologize.
*edit* I did want to add that while not upset I am irritated.. obviously.
The reason is simple. Over the history of MMO's the one constant is lack of communication. Most things that upset customers are due to lack of communication. Such as a server goes down but there is no official word on it... where simply if someone took the 60 seconds to put up a thing that they were aware of it.. problem solved.
To me this is the same thing they should have sent emails (we have two account on different emails.. neither one got any email about updating the password... which is not something we have ever had to do or would have expected to have to do. I mean I've beta'd most games since Ultima Online.. the only time I changed a password was when I chose to. Being able to choose the skills you want to use, offers much less variety than pre-made class based systems. -Future Game Developer |

Yeah, I just searched my outlook again and have nothing in the last couple weeks from NCSoft or PlayNC. I have the same message as you from a while ago. Frustrating, but we know what we need to do once they get the account management page back up. |

Yea but what is very sad is that the account page not only affects Aion but all the other games the NSSOFT has. So this is epic fail across the board on there part. |

If you updated your OBT password, you might want to try the old one too and see if that works. I mean usually username and password issues are 90% of the time user error, but I forget my pin to my ATM sometimes so I am not surprised. If you are sure you got them right, check the account on NC or god forbid you actually might have to call them. Letting my friend play my account in OB, so I probably hang out on the forum during this period. |

I'm having the same issue, Cant log in either. All the related AION sites are down, NCSoft Account pages are down, even AIONSource is down.
This is all off to a bad start if you ask me. :( May wait till launch, or rather AFTER launch to bother with this game. Current Games: |

My password said up to date in green if I remember correclt.y And just incase I still updated my password days ago. I'm positive its correct, and yet that damn error still keeps showing up. I'l give it another hour, and after that another and another... and another. Going out of town tomorrow, so would be cool if I could at least get a taste of the game. |

When I received the update your password email I changed my pass to one pass then back to my original pass.
I get this error as well though I know for a fact I updated back to my ncsoft master pass.
C'est la OB.

Had that problem but mine was different, I got my key from Eurogamer so I had to change my NCsoft launcher to Europe and was able to log in and create a character. ... just in time for the server to go down. |

I got a key from gamesource.it and I can't log in if I'm using the NA version of the launcher. It works when I change it to EU, though. I was told I'd be able to play on NA servers even with an EU key, but it's not looking like this is going to be the case... Oh well, at least I can still try it. |

I have the same problem, and I tried to change it to US server. Now it seems to work. Even though it obviously says EU Aion installed. |
