Shadow Legion is coming to Aion. Some of you might know us, some will not. Either way this post is to announce Shadow Legion's intent to take to the skies in Aion. We are a very driven, dedicated, and fun guild with members who have played well together and achieved much success in the many games we have played over the years.

In Aion, we've played both Chinese servers and closed beta on NA servers on Israphel under the name SL (Since guild name lengths have not been adjusted by NCsoft yet). Shadow Legion is full of Aion gaming experience and knowledge. We are ready to go for launch and plan to hit the ground running but want to bulk up our ranks a bit so others can join in our great experience. That is where you potential recruits come in.

We are a very PVP active guild and are looking for PVP active and capable players when Aion launches in September. While PVP is our main focus endgame, we always complete and excel at all end game PVE content that games can provide us with. Aion will be no exception.

About Shadow Legion:

Origin
Shadow Legion was formed in 2002, in a game called Asheron’s Call 2. The game had three factions, Order, Dominion, and of course - Shadow. The guild went through rapid development and success early on, dominating our server for over a year. We formed a solid base that has taken us into many games over the years, and very selective recruitment has kept us a strong, powerful guild today.

Type of Guild
Shadow Legion is a very insular guild, uninterested in the drama or "forum wars" that seem to lend themselves to others in the MMO community. Though happy to work with allies when needed, we take pride in standing alone and doing things our way. Although our forums are integral to the way we work and have a large amount of activity, our true sense of community stems from the use of the voice communications program ‘Ventrilo’. Despite being a focused and driven guild with high standards of success, we like to enjoy ourselves and talk as much crap as possible on vent!

Though we have played many games, it is incorrect to say that we are a ''multi-gaming'' guild. Our community is very close-knit and tends to migrate from one game to another together, sticking with only one game at a time.

Notable Games
We have dabbled in many games for enjoyment over the years, and several of them could be said to have been games that have shaped Shadow Legion.

The first of these, after Asheron’s Call 2, was PlanetSide. Though only a smaller sized guild, our name was well known, and respected as a dangerous, well co-ordinated force of players. Star Wars Galaxies, though not a long lasting game for us, saw us recruit some great players, and the same goes for some of the more recent games of Age of Conan and Warhammer.

One of our most successful games of recent years, worth special note, has been RF-Online. Through both Codemasters version for the west, and more recently the CCR version of the game, the guild has been involved in this game for several years. During the ''Codemasters'' years, we saw the guild gain much success, and in many ways the game and its players shaped the modern face of Shadow Legion.

Players
Shadow Legion has a large cross section of nationalities, but we are a 100% English speaking guild. Although our array of accents are colourful and diverse, we all hang out on vent, and enjoy the games we play while chatting to one another. This is the reason why, if you read our recruitment policy, that Ventrilo is so heavily enforced. Without vent use, you really wouldn't become part of our community, and end up isolated and un-trusted by the rest of us.

Our player base ranges from extreme hardcore gamers, with no real lives to speak of, to the more casual gamer that don’t really get much time to play. Our casual gamers tend to be older members, that evolved lives between games (how dare they!). Its fair to say though, the majority of our player base, dedicate quite some time to the games we play, spending many hours each day in our active game of choice. As for our hardcore members, in many of the games we play we are among the first to hit level cap.

ShadowLegion is a dedicated end game pvp/pve guild, looking for quality players. Templars have filled up fast, but we are still looking for other classes. Join us while we have spots open, otherwise you'll be missing out on good times and lots of success in Aion.

I'm interested in joining a guild, but I am a very casual player as I have a family, a job and a band that comes before any video game life.  That being said I am usually online either forums or game wise 10-20 hours a week  but at random times some weeks could be a little less and some weeks can be a little more play time as I play around my life not the other way around. My question is this looked down upon with your guild, do I have to be "hardcore" in my play time and attendance to events and such?  Anyway I am interested but dont know if I fit the bill for what your looking for, I'll be playing a sin to start with and I am also interested in glad and cleric

i would be interested in giving the legion a try in open beta. i would consider myself a very competitive player, and very PVP focused. i will be playing a gladiator most likely at release, however i may try a sorc in open beta. send me a message and let me know what you need me to do.

I wanted to apply, but it's referral only now.  Could you update the top?  Wasted some time looking into the guild.

We are accepting people into the guild currently by referal only. Which means if someone in the guild has refered them, they get in relatively easily with no questions asked, just a app. This is a benefit for friends and family of our members.

We are accepting applications for everyone else, but aren't approving/accepting them into the guild at this time. If you read the forum description before jumping in there you would have noticed it says this:

RECRUITMENT STATUS OPEN just a little: We are now accepting and reviewing applications for Aion (US) on a REFERRAL only basis.

Please note: if you don't have a referee, but wish to post an application during this phase of recruitment, you are more than welcome to do so. however such applications will only be reviewed once we commence phase two of our recruitment schedule on the 14th September.

We've wasted nobodies time who has taken the 6 seconds necessary to read whats in front of them.

If your looking to be added to the guild right now because you submit an application, this isn't the guild for you. However if you are serious bout gaming and want a great guild, with great players, who know how to have fun, then submitting and app and playing the waiting game for a chance at a spot in the guild will be well worth it.

Wow then you're not really recruiting dude.

Can't believe you're stuck up enough to think anyone with half a brain is going to play a waiting game for "a chance" to get into your guild (besides some teenager with no self respect).  Is this like the Cartman style of guild recruiting?  You can't get in! sorry!

I just saw this thread on the front page and I'm gonna be in the OB today...after a quick look through the replies I have to say this game is already looking to be filled with negativity...I personally think that a multi-phase application filter is a good way to get good guild members...alot less guild hoppers and non-dedicated members...and I dont understand what everyone's gripe is about it...its their guild let them do what they want? >_> they didnt ask YOU to wait - -;; you just assumed they wanted you to even apply...to me thats the cartman's way of applying for a guild - -;; I'd gladly join this guild or at least put in an application but I am planning on playing the other side so GL and I'll see you all on the battlefield!

Also in response to above. We are a NA/EU/AUS guild 100% English speaking. We are playing on NA servers, and our website happens to have UK hosting because of a generous UK officer/leader who selflessly provided both our vent server and website/forums.
