After that it was very challenging and several fights were close but I took out everyone there including 6 henchmen at a time, and mixed groups of henchmen + villain and a lv 20 master villain + a henchman.
I have not tried the robot cowboys but I will next time I log in too see if they are much harder then the stuff I've seen.
For the record I went made a point of fighting the robot cowboys last night and did not find them to be harder then the stuff I was fighting in MC. I did ding 19 shortly after getting there and the only time I died was when I over agroed and ended up fighting three villains and 5 henchmen at once... |

I dont have much faith in sony online studio either. But if it has realtime dodging or at least includes villains at launch i will feel compelled to try it. I gotta be honest I vastly prefer FPS controls. so superhero + fps = wet dream for me. But by that time CO will have the game nerfed into their 'vision' of how things should be. it will probably be like CoH in a couple of months where all vets just sit around and daydream how much fun they had in begining when everyone felt superpowerful |

Forums tend to attract the players who want to talk about the game more than actually play it which usually means they aren't that happy. Maybe it's that or just that the unhappy players are the most vocal. Whatever it is I understand why some companies don't have official forums. If you like the game play it and avoid the forums and you will be happier than 99% of the people posting.
Well i mostly avoid official forums because i dont want to get caught up in min/max too much. I can get really evil with numbers. I just want to make my heroes for their concept and just enjoy the game that way. From past experience, i dont think cryptic smiles nicely on min/max much.
And i already died a lot on my guy previously cause he has no defenses. None of my chars do atm. So I wasnt affected so bad by the nerfs. |

So everyone pretty much figured out they can't aggro several groups at once. Instead they have to fight one group at a time. Which is a better way for the game. |

I just canceled my sub that would have started after the 30 day trail period would have ended. I also decided not to even bother to continuing to play at all after my experience today. |

Sounds awesome. Haven't been able to get my copy yet but I played beta. It was too easy. So far they sound like they've turned the game into an MMO instead of just a console game you can beat in 4 days and then take back to the store for a trade-in on something else. And in the law of unintended consequences they seem to be flushing out lots of players that I wouldn't want to play around anyway! A solid double win I can hardly wait to start playing again!

Hahahaha, no really...hahahahahaha. The game has been live for 2 days, your level 31 of 40, and you’re actually upset because you got stopped??? I know, you wanted to hit level 40 in the first week then complain on the forums about there being no "end game content" for you and how the game sucks because it’s too easy right?? Oh yeah, and in case you didn’t notice with WoW, all they care about is your money there. Every time you get close to being bored they conveniently come out with an expansion you have to buy which takes away all the effort you put into the game for the previous year, and all on the first day. Oh sure there are plenty of factions you can grind out (a million mobs at a time), materials you can farm (which you have to convert, at a rate of one every 4 days - can't go too fast here), honor points you can grind, arena points you can grind (not too fast though, only a little each week), or marks you can farm (again not too many though, only a couple each day). And if you do all those nice and slow, you should have a really cool looking character (that looks just like all the other people who did the same things over and over and over for the past year), that will be useless again the first day after the NEXT expansion comes out (hope you did all the Northrend content because Blizz is already got the next one coming). There is a reason WoW has been around so long, because they reset it each expansion pack, and people like you (and me for a long time) couldnt' see past the hipe to the real "content" of the game - GRIND. Blizz is just better than most companies on making thier customers feel important, they cater to you constantly to keep you giving them more money. It's not that they actually care about you...really. Honestly though, yeah ya got a bum wrap on the CO launch day nerf bat, but if I was Cryp, and seen people all over the place slamming level cap on day 2...yeah I’d probably smack ya around a bit with it too. Either that or end up being another fly by night MMO looking at recovery instead of launch. Really though, how much fun would CO be for you after you had all your character slots to level cap in the first 3 weeks? Your a one month subscription fee to them and months of forum hater posts either way, your a lose-lose to them, best to get it over with and get you gone now instead of delay the inevitable. (DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.) |

Must say after beta and headstart, Ive have come to the personal opinion that this game is lame. Its not what I wanted believe me I gave it every chance, Ive invested over $120 dollars into the game..Its not all instances great..but now..you spawn camp to try and complete missions. Its complete freedom to choose balanced characters..great..except now the best part of COH is lost...grouping up. Defined roles..tank healer..damage..and was the most fun part..very few groups run in CO. which is good I suppose since there is a maximum of 100 people in your zone..is that "massive online"? Very little strategy to combat...wash rinse repeat..wash rinse repeat.... |

I wasn't here for the big fuss over a patch. Nor was I in beta, so I wouldn't know the difference. But I will say that it doesn't feel like there's anything wrong with leveling. Feels alright to me. It's a bit of a pain when you're trying to kill a group and then a shit ton pull, but that's with every MMO, it seems.
But I suggest no one pick Acrobatics. Such a let down.
Groovy. |

lol cryptic...lol preorder... This is why I never preorder. I hardly never beta stuff anymore these days either. Not worth the time to be honest. This is why I let an mmo mature before I even think of paying for it. This is why I play a trial before I buy a game. Oh, and last, but certainly not least, I never listen to the hypemachine. |

Do a search for monster island with the social tab and see how many are also level 31. Also monster island had roughly about 100 Players total before the game went to launch spread between it's 2 instances. As far as the rate that I level I have played this game no differently then I did any other MMO I have played before. Also, think how long CO has been in CB how long they had to data mine and collect information about XP and powers why the hell wait until the day that the game goes live to pull a stunt like that? The original XP gain was built around the missions already in the game when you completeled a zone you were a little over the level requirement for the next batch of missions but never never under it. This is how they intended the game to be and this is how it was presented to to so many.

Haven't seen a game where a number of people are logged into an area that the FPS doesn't drop considerably, took WAR about 9 months to get to the point that CO is at in 2 days in terms of lag. By the way CO has added in a test shard, but guess you won't see it as your 30-day free will expire and you'll be griping on the AION forums about the same stuff. P.S.> This is my first super hero genre MMORPG and I am enjoying it. Others may not but that is the way products go. The old saying is true " Can't please ALL of the people, ALL of the time". People dropping subs because they can't make level 40 in 3-days is a real joke. |

Wow.. these discussions between 'outraged custom customers' and 'honey mooners with their asses so far up shit creek they wouldn't admit they got no paddle in a million years for fear of looking like utter schmucks' (life long subs), are great!
Let me tell you what all this looks like from the outside: It looks like Cryptic got a sub par product (again and as predicted by many) and they're trying something hopefully chaotic enough that it will mask that they haven't even been doing any power balancing analysis yet in their development process whatsoever.
In a couple months, I bet that this game will have joined the ranks of flops like WAR and noones gonna disagree anymore. I hope I'm wrong |

Personally, I think it will do fine. There are a lot of great ideas there. Some may take a while to refine. Some of the shortcomings will be cleaned up in the first few major content releases. In the end it will be a top notch MMO without being a clone of anything besides CoX's character creator and WoW's quest model, both of which are good things IMO. |

I'm afraid I don't have that in me. I got neither the patience nor the developer idealistic support inclination to go through with something like that. If YOU do, then maybe I'll be back to capitalize on your efforts at a later stage. I apologize.

Er what? You prevent something from being a flop by rewarding bad behavior? Pretty sure that is backwards. |

This sums it up. In OB I was assuming Cryptic learned from CoX and left stuff well enough alone to be fun and understood this sort of open system will have overpowered people in it. I assumed there would be some adjustments things like healing drones simply had to be nerfed. But what they did is amateurish has no place in a release.
I was wrong they are gonna beta the power balancing for the next 3 months. Anyone who thinks this patch is not the sort of thing that happens in early to mid closed beta is lying to themselves, naieve or ignorant. Sweeping changes that have vast effects on basic gameplay.
Just look at what they did to healing drones (a power I do not use so save the butt hurt comments) they reduced the healing amount. Fine. But in addition they made ther already poor behavior just stupid and frustrating. They have huge pauses and then get stuck healing themselves and they take forever to heal themselves becasue their healing was reduced a lot. Do one or the other don't do both to "balance" them. That is rank amateur behavior. |

I don't really like crapping on someone elses choice... In fact that was why I didn't post much if at all here about CO..
I was invited in the second round of CB invites so it was a rather small group still when I got in. I would log in to all the play tests but there was absolutely nothing to draw me into CO...
I hope for the people who did pay lifetime subs that things work out and they get what they paid for. Personally I couldn't fathom buying the box let alone slapping down another $200.
That wasn't sarcasm either... developers have a responsibility normally to make sure customers get the entertainment they paid for. When you go into the $200 pre-paid life plan... you get elevated to a whole new level of responsibility imho... Typical thread: Blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may not agree with, blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may agree with, blocked, blocked... |

See here now Aganazer! We will have none of this common sense here! This day-care center will have nothing to do with rational and reasoned explanations! I work in software development as well an I do not agree. Yes there are many unforseeable things and it is hard to nail down difficult, elusive or subtle problem. That is not what this is. This is was silly, insane even. |
