Whats up with forming a team. For the last two days, everytime I try to form one I get a message, team server is down. Today, around 10am I finally formed a team, then the server crashed. Of course they posted saying it would be up by noon, its 3:48 here and it still shows that the server is down. Funny enough, the website is down also...

There making some  changes to the game. Giving out respecs and stuff.

If you want to know whats goin on, MAN...this is really the wrong forum to ask! LMAO.

Not laughing at you, just that after a few years of lurking, and finally taking the plunge to post on these forums. I know this is really not the place to get info on whats happening in or on any game!

It's obviously the end of the world for all the school kids getting out of class today only to find that they cannot log into an mmo for a bit. We should all just say goodbye...

Hmm, I am checking here for server status since about 2 hours. 2-3 ot of 4 times the link leads to nothing though.
Edit: ok, I ran out of luck, too, it seems. Cannot link to it in 10 attempts.

Then act like the adult your supposed to be, don't you realise it's a game for heavens sake? kids/tweens come here to whine "I can't get into the game WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" not adults.

I'l be playing CO but thankfully I've learned lessons from many many MMO releases and I'l happily wait until things settle down, the mad rush always causes issues in the first month, everyone wanting to get to max lvl ASAP, lining up to jump someone else's quest mob, getting frustrated because the nerf bat keeps getting swung in the first month to deal with all the gaming issues that enable the MMO savvy to lvl up in a week.

If you did pay for a 6 month subscription you obvisouly had enough faith in Cryptic to give you a decent game, otherwise why would you have invested the lump sum?

I dont expect any kind of reparations. I would just like Cryptic to not down the website when the server crashes. This way they can keep us informed as to whats going on. I dont think the fact that when the server crashes, they bring the website down, is any kind of coincedince

I never understand why people make mistakes like this. Sure I can understand the game having a problem and having to be taken down to get fixed, that's reasonable. What's unreasonable IMO is their website not being stable. How much really does it cost to get a good server for their website? There are thousands of websites on the internet which handle massive influx of hundreds of thousands on a daily basis and yet Cryptic can't handle it when a few thousand players want to look at their website.

What's also unreasonable is this whole nerf, respec deal. You're supposed to iron these things out in beta, not launch the game and then start making major changes. Take a lesson from SWG and stop inflicting unwanted changes on paying customers.

I was wondering about that too. When the forums have been available they've been really slow but I've seen the website go down at about the same time as the game enough times to make me think they may have all their eggs in one pretty flakey basket at the moment.

What's more baffling is that the server is down for more then 5 hours, 2 hours over their projected downtime and they don't even have the curtesy to update their PAYING customers about what's going on.

Just one post 5 hours ago (After the server crashed / went down) about a Minor Issue (LOL) and that it would take about 2 and half hours emergency maintenance.

Ehmm. Right. Anyone buying that?

Oh... and the website and forums are down again. lol.

When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net .

It seems that the site and forums are somehow linked to the game servers in such a way that they suffer along with server issues.  As you noted, when I can't log into the game (which really is not often, today being the worst) the site seems to go down as well.

We all know screw-ups occur when games go live. However, this week there have been rather a lot of downtime, server crashes, disconnects, etc.

A simple announcement on the forums that everybody will get a day added to their account, as is the norm in other games, would stop us feeling robbed. As it is, it's 10pm here in the UK and I haven't been able to log in today, and without some Dev acknowledgement of that, one can't help but to feel a little cheated.

This is not that unusual.  Same thing is true for EVE, when the game servers go down, frequently the website goes down with it.

So unlike what one poster said, sometimes this site is the only place I can find out the latest status. (because the Dev's seem to host an IRC channel during down times and while I don't monitor it, many others do and share the updates here on MMORPG.com

Patience folks, new game, always going to be some growing pains.  Look how rough WOW's start was for some folks and yet it certainly didn't hinder their long term success.

I was looking to play some champions before work, but oh well. It's not like my life revolves around CO. I have other things to do if the server happens to be down. Maybe other people should have back-up games/activities.

I just picked up the game from GameStop today.  Actually paid money for it.

I sit down to play this brand new game, and...

I was about to buy the game on steam, good thing I came here before doing it. By the way, anyone got any news? That seems like a serious issue, even the official web site is not working half of the time I try to check the official forum.

My patcher started, but it still says Server Down. Also, no files are transferring from the patcher.
