I can't seem to get this quest to work. I click continue on the cage and get the cat. I take Reggie to the old woman and she won't have anything to do with me.

Could anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Is the quest bugged? I'm trying to get all the perks from the tutorial zone before leaving.

You find the cage, hit Z.

You see the cat, hit Z.

Open your Inventory, click on the cat carrier. Accept mission.

Take cat to cat lady, Martha Reece. Shes next to the Silver Avenger.

 PS Some items you pick up begin a mission, check them and click on them to begin them.

Ahhh it puts it in your inventory! Thank you! I am such a noob. You don't want to know how many times I restarted a character because I thought the quest was bugged.

This happens when you do your first crafting thing as well. Things just mysteriously appear in your inventory and you need to click on them to progress the quest. All pretty confusing and unnecessary in my opinion.

OK so this needs to be said as I do not think people realize this about the tutorial.  The first few quests you do in the tutorial are of central importance to the game.

One of the first 3 quests you get has you block.  Blocking is of central importance.  IN fact  Ithink some block power are going to get nerfed soon in the next round of nerfing.  Its more than just use block when you see a funny symbol over their heads.  You can use block in a number of ways, from having fire and forget dots to getting blocks with lingering effects.  Remember also that taking a block from a powerset lets you level up block this means you go from +200% to +360% at rank 3.

Another things there are ALOT of quests based off inventory items.  And I mean a lot.

There are also a fairly large number of "found" quests like the one to free Kinetic which you can get by finding him or using a radio in a police car.  Millenium city has Bank robbery quests you can get by running past a bank.

Another common thing, there are many quests that have you use a special item simialr to the sonic device to soothe enraged qualarr.

Each part of the tutorial is actually pretty important and you will all of those mechanics often, very often or need to use them often.

Too true, the tutorial is just that....a tutorial to explain how things work in the game.

Granted, it could be explained a little more IN the game than it is now. I found this cat quest not cause of the tutorial, but cause I have done many years of questing in several games. MMOs to be exact.
