The first update to Champions Online has been announced today on the Champions Online official website. The update will be entitled "Blood Moon", and from what we can gather, it appears to be a Halloween event that will also bring with it a new power framework: Celestial. Details below:
The Blood Moon Rising page can be viewed here. It also appears that the site will be updated with a video featuring the update in the near future, stay tuned! Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

It would be nice to see some of the more rabid micro-trasaction haters come here and recant some of their doom. I think I heard on a number of occasions, from a number of posters, that no content updates would be free. Here is the first content update, and it doesn't look like fees will be involved. Also, they just changed respecs so that you can completely respec a character. Might cost a lot, but it's possible. Another thing that the MT doomsayers said would never happen. Although, with the framework of this game, I never expected them to allow you to completely respec $$ or no. That was a pleasant surprise indeed. |

Yep Champs is getting better day by day and was pretty damn good to begin with.
As far as the Zombies and werewolves are concerned one of my main chars is a robot. How do they infect a robot with Lycanthropy? Nevertheless they are going down DOWN DOWN
Played or Beta'd: UO / DAOC / Horizons / EQ2 / DDO / EVE / Archlord / PirateKingsOnline / Tabula Rasa / LOTRO / AOC / Champions / Darkfall / Mortal Online / DCUO / Rift / |

New powerset is cool. The 'Zombie Apocalypse' seems possibly a bit like the Halloween event of CoH by the same name (though it doesn't possibly turn you into a zombie). We won't know 'till later if it actually ends up being similar at all(outside of the whole red sky thing). Overall it looks more like a bit (and quite possibly fun) limited time event with a new powerset tacked on than it does an addition of long-term content. |
