Tired of hamster wheels at the moment. Probly let this one slide by. |

I'm currently between MMORPGs. I will be playing Aion from the head start. However, I see the game as heavily flawed and am expecting that I will not likely play for more than two or three months. If something better sneaks in under the radar during that time, I'll be gone in sooner than a few months. |

ill be playing aion ^^ ----------------------------------------------- |

TBH, I considered Aion and was looking forward to it, but, I've decided to drop my pre-order for it and picked up the one for Fallen Earth. I know there is no comparison graphics wise between the two games, but the depth offered so far in Fallen Earth has won me over. Also, Aion is going to be overrun with bots just like Lineage 2 was and still is. That has been another factor in not really wanting to get into Aion. NCSoft games generally tend to be havens for gold farmers, botters. |

Your use of the word 'dropped' seems sort of misplaced. I still have WOW on my pc and a few other MMOs that currently I am not playing. If you mean 'stop playing' for a while...well yeah. But then I haven't played WOW since April and I only took a month then. Its not a matter of playing different MMOs, its a matter of common sense. If you have anymore than 4 MMOs going at once you are losing playtime vs. money, more importantly wasting your money. If you don't mind shelling out the money hey go for it, but it makes more sense to buy monthly if you are going to do that. I am sure some of us would love to play an MMO for a week if that option was available. The software is bought and always there, you just have to buy the month. Nah, dropping is a poor use of word for an MMO...lol! What I did give up was the launch of Champions Online. I am a City Of Heroes fan so I figured since Aion is released in September also something had to give. It was Champions Online. And depending on how well Aion goes for me, and so far with my low spec'd pc it runs great, I may play it even longer than the 37 days we get with the launch. I also have two other big ones on my list. Star Trek Online AND Star Wars: The Old Republic, the latter being the most interesting since the rave reviews it is getting. It has my curiousity up with the 'no grnding' like COH. I have never been a big Star Wars fan so this MMO may be why. I may like the game instead of the other stuff. Just to mention as in the post above, Fallen Earth looks very appealing. Especially since I have played and am still playing the best game ever made, Fallout 3. I tried the demo/beta and couldn't get it to install and work, so that one is out for me. Maybe someday if I get a new machine. Rough Q4 2009 and Q1 2010 for choices for gamers and MMOs. The really, really smart thing to do is not play any of them until about a year after they are out and in a workable condition then make a pick, but I didn't tell you that. :-) One thing though, if you are going from WOW to Aion you are going to see very little difference in gameplay...lol! The engine is very similar with a touch of the Lineage 2 engine. You can open up a private store and sell your wares. Aion even has an Auction House. And the Aion Wiki is up, so you should have no trouble with questing and dungeoning. |

But it's one of those cookie cutter ARPGs with guns (And vats, probably one of the coolest features given.). It's a cookie cutter of their previous successes. As was Oblivion and so on. Still a great game. You also for got to mention that the game supports a feature similar to quest helper in WoW, so questing is even easier. Totally agree though, Q4 2009/Q1 2010 is gunna be rough for MMOs, but I disagree, I think a player would be better off playing from the launch and see how the devs handle it. That choice is definitly not for the people who can't deal with bugs, crashes, and etc. STO definitly looks cool, but no real info on it just yet. SW: TOR, although epicly awsome in concept and definitely something I want and will try out is unfortunately gunna have issues. From what I've heard SW:G pretty much died the day that everyone could be a Jedi. With the fact TOR is gunna let you be a Jedi/Sith from the start I really don't want to log in to seeing a billion jedi and a billion sith. What class would I pick? Unfortunately out of the classes I know, probably sith. Then again I only know of 4 out of 10 of the classes. Jedi, Sith, Smuggler, and Bounty Hunter. Playing: Guild Wars and Exteel |

I drop WOW because of WOW. Now im going to play AION. Playing in China since May and still thing is the best out there atm and nothing better is coming this month or next (MY opinion, ofc). Future? will see it: If i get bored i give up and look for something else. If something else better (in MY opinion) come out, i will change. But for now, AION all the way :)) Simple.. :) |

I pre-purchase the game, played 2 beta weekend and ask for a refund. Honestly, i dont see why peoples are so hype about this game. It feels like WOW, plays like WOW but lacks most features. If i want to play a WOW clone i'd play the real thing instead. |

I wont be converting to AIon but i did preordered the game. Im giving AOC a time table for things to happen for me personally (like getting more raid gear) in the game or im not resubbing. |

pre-ordered. The real game i was looking forward too was JGE, but that has been pushed back indefinately. I was also looking at Aion and im going in with a great group of people that I played AoC with. Im tired of WoW, its become a bit to elitiest for my taste and it feels alot more like a job. Even if I wasnt going to Aion i would have probally still canceled. Like other people have said, if it stops being fun, stop playing.

Aion is not anime, so if that's the reason you don't want to play then maybe you should come up with another, more valid reason such as "I don't want to pay $50 to buy it" or "I don't like pvp" or "I can't stop playing WoW". They can adjust classes all day but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair. |

The beauty of Aion is that it never feels "anime" when you play it. The story is so captivating that it draws you into the epic environment creating a wonderful picture of artistic flare. The only "anime" part of Aion is that it was made in Korea. Aion v3 "RELOADED" - A glimpse into the future of the MMO genre http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PAM0wr7cZ8 |

I will be playing Aion on the 20th as well. i have played GW for along time and it's time to lay it to rest. I also tried out Wow and i didn't understand the hype with it why so many ppl love it so much. I for one couldn't stand the mis proportioned toons in that game along with it's old and out dated feel over all. I will admit it did have a lot of features they were good but not enought to out weigh the bad things. Also the ppl in wow were all kinda rude to say the least. Anyway i for one can't wait for aion and i hope it becomes the 1# mmorpg of all time!!! |

I stopped playing WoW a while ago. Great game. I just suppose after playing on and off for 4 years, you look forward to something new.
So I suppose I am not converting so to speak. I am just happy to have a new mmo to play for a while. :D |

Meh....I'm going to pass on this theme park and try an indy game. I will probably play Fallen Earth or Mortal Online until Guild Wars 2 comes out. The indy games may not have all the flash and flare, but they have the freedom and the chance to evolve for the better. Most theme parks seem to devolve and get more and more simpler/dubmed down over time because their design caters to the lowest common denominator. Just look at how WoW has changed, and it wasn't all that challenging at launch... G A M I N G O N L I N E S I N C E |1995

I didn't say GW2 was an indy game, I said I'm going to play an indy game (Fallen Earth, Mortal Online) until GW2 comes out. If you have trouble understanding what someone has written, it is best if you just don't reply. GW2 may well be a theme-park, and if the game play leans toward the status quo, I may be playing Earthrise or something else instead. However, Guild Wars was an awesome and very, very polished game from day one, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I hate to break the news to you, but look around. It is Marketing 101 that the masses are the lowest common denominator. This planet is NOT filled with a majority of intelligent and/or creative people. The majority are plain old people who don't want to think or do much. When you design a product for mass consumption, you make it as dirt easy and accessible as possible so that you can have the largest customer base possible. This is what is meant by designing for the lowest common denominator. Take a marketing or product design class and ask your instructor if I am right. I also didn't say Wow was a horrible game, but anyone who has played it knows that it started off as a fairly simple MMO (with exception of the 1% who do end game) and it has been getting easier and easier with every patch/expansion. Leveling is easier and faster, getting loot is easier and faster, etc. It has been devolving to meet the expectations of people who want instant gratification, not a long term gaming commitment. This has happened to many an MMO and if Aion gets very popular, it too will probably head down this path. Hell, I've been waiting for WoW to get the point where the game plays itself for you while you watch....it's not far off. ;P Indy games like EVE have avoided this trap and they have continued to develop a deep, complex and interesting gaming experience for their niche customer base without falling into the trap of dumbing the game down in an attempt to pull down WoW subscription numbers. P.S. I don't play EVE. G A M I N G O N L I N E S I N C E |1995

I left L2 more for personal reasons and after a year break didn't want to go back and be a year behind. I got into a couple games after their initial launch but never lasted for a month. I did spend a lot of time in a F2P game called CABAL Online which was good as I liked the Graphics. it was a small world though not even 100k in players and was on the leader board there for a while. I have been waiting for Aion for about 1.5 years :) and can't wait for 9/22 actually 9/6, then 9/18 to get my name and then 9/20 for the two day pre-buy headstart and then for 9/22 for it to be wide open. it is so funny how excited I am about this game... I feel like a 6th grader waiting for summer break. LOL. Sukah |
