Add another potential XBOX 360 MMOG to the in-limbo pile. Champions Online, like Final Fantasy XIV, and The Lord of the Rings Online is also experiencing issues trying to launch on the XBOX 360 platform. Like all the other gamse mentioned, the problem is XBOX Live, and the logistics of running a MMOG on the service. Cryptic Studios' Jack Emmert spoke to VG 24/7 recently on the issue, stating that the whole situation was "baffling". According to Jack Emmert, the 360 version of Champions Online is ready and waiting, they need only the green light from Microsoft to get things going. Via VG247 Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

Just because you are unique does not mean you are special |
This is why console MMOs will be few and always fail. Who wants to deal with M$ or $OE every time you want to do something with the game? |

You forgot AoC too lol. Seriously though, this is no surprise. They need to get a system in place within LIVE at some point soon to handle the connectivity & payment issues/misgivings they seem to have. I have quite a few buddies that would like to play MMOGs on the 360, the market is definitely there for them to capitalize on. |

The only difference between a Troll and a Fanboi is which side of the fence they stand on. |
I think the big issue is you'd have to patch the game through Live... and it'd be a free content patch, which MS would have to host but collect no revenue from. then the problem with downloading new content that changes the content on the console, or adds to it. They just didn't design their service for that... So it's No Money + Extra Problems + Extra Bandwidth + Extra Service Changes = Not Going to Happen - CaesarsGhost Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. |

I dont get it. Why did Microsoft allow Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe but now they seem to be against MMOs. |

With PSU Microsoft actually collects a small portion of the subscription revenue in exchange for handling the payments through XBL. With FFXI, that was a strategic business move to help build their relationship with Square-Enix. Plus, at the time there was no deal for FFXIII in place, so it allowed MS to say "Look! Final Fantasy has come to Xbox 360!". |

*Sigh* I hope one day they will get the "MMO's on consoles" thing figured out, because I really look forward to playing MMO's on my 360, but don't think my hope will come to fruition. Not now, anyways. |
