The OP is one twisted SOB, first he claims that he doesn't care for other people's feelings on matters of killing them because he cannot control their feelings, but then claims to be out there killing because he wants to hurt the enemies morale which is indeed an attempt to control other people's feelings. Not to mention the fact that he is so involved and steeped in the game, in game victory is infinitely more important to him then the feelings of others playing the game. Your logic is flawed because in an interactive environment what you do can indeed control the emotions of others.

Ok jr here is the deal [pay attention] NPC's are AI controlled characters, they are not in fact real.   PCs are actual real humans who are controlling avatars.   Lets try this another way , I can see your not getting the concept of other people who have real feelings.   If you  hit the old lady down the street and take her social security check that is real life ganking.   If you pee in your neighbors garden that is real life griefing.   Now here is the jump from the real world to cyberspace.   Other real people are also paying money for this game and they are sacrificing their own personal  time to get things done in game .... just like you.  ( amazing I know ).     Now that being said you are actually stealing some of their subscription money and messing up the time they have put into their character progression if you exploit the game ( or the lack of imagination or follow up on the part of the dev team) and basically waste or mess up what they have been working for.   Yes I know there is more in it for you than that but with respect to the forum rules I thought I wouldn't mention that.   In a game where the field of play is set up to pit players against one another combat is fair in situations where the game leads to it , true.  Taking advantage of a situation the devs didn't think of ( sometimes they really do miss things ) is not fair.   That being said a 2 second gank where the lower lvl player didn't even get the chance to see your name is not pvp combat because combat requires your foe to fight back (or be able to), and if you spend a lot of time doing that your not only griefing but your a coward. 

Also it is not up to you as to whether or not you are causing another real person grief.  If your in their personal space ( real or cyber space ) then how you effect them is where the judgment call comes from. 

Now to qualify this that does not mean there are not some fair and intended versions  of pvp combat that are called griefing by some but are not.   It stands to reason that one can not go into a known pvp area and expect to just do nothing but pve quest and grind.     I is my understanding that the slayer system was created to work against the mindless griefing crowd and I have the feeling when more exploits are found and if they become wide spread tweaks will be made to it.

 Blow him off, the dude is a troll who neither believes his own crap or plays that way.  If he really is like this we should feel thankful that he is terrorizing lowbies instead of prowling the real world. Someone like this who has an identity so wrapped up in winning a game is a pathetic example that the rest of us hate being ascociated with.  The fact that we keep responding is just driving up his post count with more idiotic cut and paste. 

On the flip side, most guys like this have such trouble relating with others that they usually have crap gear, and when you catch them 1 v 1 with a toon of the same lvl you can send them back to the spawn point until they have to log to a different toon.

So you say now. If you were to log on every day for weeks only to be constantly killed by higher level characters you could not even dent .. you'd soon get sick of it. I'm taking griefing here .. they dont allow you to kill ONE mob to gain XP. You can never level .. you can never gain gear .. you just die over and over and over.

Sure thats me taking it to the extreem .. but you dont seem to register anything but extreem scenerio's /shrug

But your attitude, even in a game, is socially abnormal. If you tune out your feelings to play a game, and let me reiterate that point; a game, something by it's definition that is supposed to be enjoyable; then you'll start to disconnect from life too. These are signs of depression. You don't know why you don't feel anything, you just don't, so you accept it, and even claim it to be a boon.

You strive to win because you hope that winning will fill that void inside of you, but when it doesn't you become ravenous, you hunger for winning because you need it. You need to feel, but no matter how many times you win it just doesn't make you any less empty inside. If it hurt to lose you'd be a masochist, but you can't even feel that.

Please, don't despair. There are people who can and will care about you if you give them the chance. Eventually you'll be able to feel again, it just takes time and the willingness to open yourself up.

Actaully there's nothing stopping someone from rifting from a higher level rift and taking a stroll to a lowbie area.  And don't say the slayer system will stop them, hell give it a month for some to max out levels and they'll roll griefer alts just for shits and giggles and grind them up to mow down lowbies.
