Between the Mayong Server and the Mercs, I can't get enough of this game!  Two of the best decisions SOE has made yet!

Don't be afraid to say it, there's nothing wrong with playing EQ1 again

Last time I played EQ was back in 2005.  It's pretty impressive how many things they got right in a game that old.  My main was at lvl 74 i think and the grind just got tooooo tedious.  Especially after they nerfed the monster mission that people were using to level... I remember double xp weekend before that nerf, man that place was crowded :)  Have any "cheap" ways to get xp popped up since then?

Yes, mercenaries (from latest SoD expansion) and repeatable/daily quests in places like dragonscale hills.  In 70's you can also start working on SoD progression, which are series of quests and missions you can do.

Thanks for the info Mardy.  I was thinking of going another round with EQ and the Mercs feature sounds awesome, but seeing as how that expansion is pretty recent and therefore still $40... maybe later :)

Underfoot expansion is due out in the next few months, so if you opt to wait, might as well wait for that.  That'll get you caught up to the latest including SoD
