All you people out there that think Aion is just another copy of WoW, why do you think this?

Reasons I can see are that the UI is similair, it's got that Right click on a target and use spells.

That's it really. Eevery MMO is like that. War,  everquest (Not played it, >.<) it's all the same.

 It has quests, skills at every 2~3 levels, classes, levels. WoW clone! See what I did there? 

I dont really care if it's like WoW.

I enjoyed wow and besides, new IP, thats always fun even if it was wow with new Aion skins. ;P

And not every game has the same generic structure don't foget eve online(worth trying if you haven't just to see how it differs), but you are right most games are

Sorry but I dont see it, been playing Aion over the past 3-4 days and nothing like WoW. As old as it might be WoW has much more feel to it and is better all round.

Na, I'm saying I dont really care if it is or isnt like WoW.

People who are saying it's "like WoW" is irritating with any game. These are generally new players to the genre who were introduced with WoW, and don't know much outside said game (WoW).
They look at some Aion screenshots and features. It's in 3rd person, has a similar UI, has classes and skills. It's like WoW. There's no way to shut these people up, I'm afraid. Best to ignore it.

PS. Call of Duty is like Counter Strike. See wut I did thar? ;)

If you've pre-ordered Aion you'll have access to all the betas. When you pre-order, the game store should email you your key, which you put on your account on the NCsoft site.

Aion really has nothing to do with wow, except obviously being a fantasy mmorpg.

However, i don't get all the hype about aion. Graphics ain't anything special, the combat system is dull and clunky (is clunky even a word?).

If there was a game I had to compare Aion to, it'd be Dark Age of Camelot, which I absolutely loved back in the day. I think WoW is like EverQuest.

Okay I'm looking at only WoW vs Aion now. Aion has got innovations. One of those being PvPvE. In WoW, PvP and PvE is like a completely different game. In Aion, PvP is tied into most of the endgame some how. That's just one of the innovations btw.

I'm not saying it's like WoW, but I did look at a list of the classes. And they did look like the same old same old fantasy classes.

I did say about 'bigger and better' features in my post- and you gave me an example, thank you. We can also put flying into the same category. No innovations, just making old things better.

Final Fantasy XI was made from the EQ mold, but it and WoW have almost nothing in common. FFXI and EQ have lot in common though. I don't see how WoW could be like Everquest, at all. I don't think there's a game that is like DaoC at all, at least successful ones.

The problem with Aion and similar MMO's is that they don't change. It's not really a 'WoW clone', but it's more like a sequel without anything new. I've seen it all already in other MMO's- this is the feeling I get. 

EDIT: And yes, what GreenChaos said above. We've seen it all already, multiple times.

Thank you very much! Atleast there is another being here that is not a complete noob. Anyone that compares WoW to Aion just has nothing better to do or knows nothing at all. Let's just point out the most obvious points;

 Aion is like doac in many ways minus the fact that aion combat system is a snore fest and you do nothing to customize your character/class Oh it doesn't support streight pve levelign as much.

How do you level up in Aion? By doing quests (!) and killing monsters. Grinding endlessly, basically.

How do you kill monsters? Click on a mob, spam your abilities until mob dies. Over and over again. 

How's the endgame like? There are raids (hey that sounds familiar) and PvP you can do to get better equipment (which game has this feature again...)

How's the leveling structure? Get to the level cap asap, since the fun starts there. Oh boy, is this a deja vu?

Classes? Include Assassin, Mage, Priest, Warrior, Sorcerer, Ranger and Cleric. Where have I heard these names before? Oh yes, in Generic Korean MMO X!

There's a talent tree? Originality 101.

Graphics? I saw similar graphics in a game once, I think it was Lineage 2... Especially the characters look oddly familiar.

I can't wait to buy the game and do the same thing I've done in 100 games before again, only this time with prettier graphics and more everything! Oh joy!

Aion is very WOW-like in the first 20 something levels because character advancement takes place running standard kill/shuttle/fetch quests ad nasuem.  This is a trademark of a WOW clone and many games have done this in recent years. 

DAOC was nothing like this. (nor was EQ)  You had some quests, they were filler, you leveled your character by grinding mobs in camps.

Where the two games come together is in the RVR style combat, but even there its quite different because the 3rd faction is played by NPC's instead of other players.

Even after a player reaches level 20, the PVE questing can continue all the way to 50 from what we're told, which also makes it very WOW-like.  Diffference is, lots of the quests can take place in the Abyss, which adds a whole new flair I suppose, but its really not a lot different than playing a faction based version of AOC.

Nah, I think it fools players by doing everything a bit better than WoW does.

That's the only 'difference' as far as I know anyway.

Oh yeah, the lore is different zomg. NCSoft took a big risk there to actually make it different in some way, thumbs up from me.

Fantasy, Rpg elements, Quests, LVLs, ets, and=? im still gonna play Aion, its not a wow Clone, its in the same genere as wow, And EQ, And ol the other games on this site, if you dont realy like Quests, Lvling,  and stuff like that, WHAY ARE YOU HER AT ALL?????????? its like complaining that thers killing in the New CoDMW2,,,, just cos it was killing in Codmw... seee

Good argument you got going there. I'd prefer if you stayed in Aion as well and not  pollute the MMO I'm going to play with your grammar.
