They don't use mercury in fillings anymore (in most places) because it's considered hazardous to one's health. That alone doesn't take "4 years to get a degree in" to figure out that it's probably not a good idea to have mercury enter your body, or even mess around with it at all.

Mercury is bad, these are facts.

I understand and I wont get the shot either but to be fair, even in the scenario you just mentioned, it's 1 of the ingrediant that is half mercury out of several other. The vials are not 50% mercury.  I mean, you probably get the same amount or more by eating fish from the sea.

Indeed, but it's there. It's considered a risk.

You might be surprised to find (well some people anyway) that their GP's and various doctors don't get vaccines or they tend to strongly avoid them. They are not to warn you or inform you unless you ask, but next time you see your doctor, ask him/her about the risks involved with vaccines and they will tell you.

I see a whole lot of denial in this thread about the deadliness of the h1n1 virus.

Read my post for the truth-

1) Conservative estimates are that it will kill 1% between this year and next. This has been revealed in letters sent to cemeteries by the government asking whether or not they can hold so many dead, and whether or not they'd be willing to accept corpses from other cities.

2) Hospitals have been reporting that the cases of h1n1 in the summer are equal to peak season of the regular flu, and we are in the heart of summer when it should be almost completely dormant.

3) The media has completely down played the seriousness of the illness, and also omitted key symptoms so as not to cause panic. Not only that but they claim that the people who have died had some other condition, which is total BS. People are buying into that though.

4) H1n1, unlike typical flu, actually causes lesions all the way from your nose to your lungs. As in, it actually causes bleeding, gaping wounds in your lungs. More over, women who are pregnant who become ill with h1n1 are going to lose their babies and probably die. The babies from infected mothers are all stillborn and they don't know why. Mothers are forced to have their babies regardless of stage, one woman was only 6 months ( a twenty something too) and subsequently fell into a coma. There are many like her.

5) This lethally attacks the healthiest among us, teens to tweens. We were advised by multiple other nations, foundations, doctors, you name it- to close down our schools this year.

6) Other nations have warned and criticized the CDC for not releasing critical information to the public, and for completely downplaying the whole thing entirely. You see they have all compiled data and sent reports to the CDC and not a damn thing is actually reaching us.

Go read the new england journal of medicine for a bit of what I am talking about, circa may of this year. This is a serious, and deadly, illness that people simply refuse to take seriously. For as much as some of you think this has been over-blown, it has actually been swept under the rug. And millions may die because of it.

Yes, flu strains are nothing to take lightly, but I don't see where you're coming from saying the media is downplaying the swine flu. The media has done nothing but play on the swine flu ever since the Mexico and Texas border event. They've been scaring the public for months.

Yet you say people are not aware? People are aware, trust me.

What I don't understand is that you say "Millions of people may die because of it." Because of what? The swine flu or people not panicking? Unless we panic, millions of people will die? That's what I'm getting at and that is what has been in the news for months. They are talking about making it a mandatory vaccination, which if that's the case, plenty of people will die from the vaccine itself and in the coming years. 

Just like in 1976, President Ford panicked, rushed out an untested and botched vaccine that killed 30 people and injured thousands, not counting all the "undocumented" side-effects in the later years. 1 person died from the swine flu itself. It's considered a farce, one of the biggest fuck-ups in "world health" history.

If the swine flu is as deadly as people want to make it out to be, the vaccine will not stop it's plague-like status, it would just be pouring salt on wounds.

However, I feel (and I hope) that the vaccines remain "suggested" and not Mandatory like 1976. If that's the case, you're welcome to get your vaccine, I however will not.

Where are you trying to go with this? Do you think I am exaggerating or lying about the stillbirths, the cemeteries receiving state and federal ROIs about how many dead they can handle? The truth is scary.

No they haven't. What the media is doing is mentioning local deaths once in a while, ALWAYS blaming it on pre-existing conditions and moving on to the next topic. Many media outlets have stopped reporting on it altogether. Almost NONE of them have mentioned the additional symptoms of h1n1, the still births and dead mothers, or gone to actually interview family members. Much less the patients. Nor the issues of WHO and the UK version of CDC versus state-side CDC. 

The media has completely downplayed it and relegated it to noise because the general public doesn't take it seriously, and it forms a vicious loop there.

Millions of people will die directly from the flu itself, durrr. Right now the general ignorant, stupid public remains ignorant and stupid thanks to the media and CDC. They will not/have not taken this seriously and will be the primary way it gets spread, and die in the mean time because they will not/have not taken simple precautions. The media is trying to get them to wash their hands and cover their mouth when they sneeze, when we need them to prepare for scenarios involving several months of isolation. They havent even brought that up. they will, when its to damn late.

I don't know if a vaccine will help or not. Im thinking no.

confirming that i've gotten all my vaccinations and a flu shot this year and am not dead due to the contents inside them listed earlier in this thread..... People eat meat that is out in the sun all day in the philipines and we wont use a fork or eat a piece of meat if it falls on the floor. People are getting to germophobic and fearful nowadays ..... i guess the news media is doing their job succesfully.

As of the ending of this month, there are "at least 2,185" deaths worldwide (ref: WHO).  The Fatality Rate is less than 1% of which underlining medical conditions is the main cause.

I do not see how the millions or even tens of thousands of deaths will occur when the swine flu is under performing than of the other strains of flu. 

And to use one crisis against another; given that the Earth is getting warmer, the winter will be less harsh and thus further reducing the potential of deaths.  Global Warming does have positive effects.

So far the death toll in the US is just over 500 and of more than half of those were of people in weakened states of health.

Right. I can't believe the OP is actually getting their news from Yahoo! the 90,000 figure is based on H1N1 mutating, which it probably wont do. Avian Flu was supposed to kill 3 billion world wide, (if it mutated), and that didn't happen either. H1N1 is actually more mild than the seasonal flu atm. Don't believe the hype people, they are just trying to sell more flu vaccines!
