World of Warcraft just has massive amounts more content than Aion will be able to match for years. As soon as people have played through to the end game and see just how much less content there is, lots of them will probably end up going back to WOW.

I also found that the grind and lack of class customization (in terms of different specs) in Aion simply cannot compare with WoW. There is a much smaller degree to which you can change your playstyle as far as I can tell. Think of all the ways you can do that in WoW. There's the talent trees, enchantments, gems, glyphs. It seems to me that Aion has far fewer choices for specialization... but perhaps I have just not played long enough.

Personally I expect people to switch over to Aion in large numbers in the short term. But once WoW's new expansion hits the shelves, I forsee them going right back.

im sorry but i get the idea your post is based off the idea of what the game would be like assumeing it is being released in version 1.0 in version 1.5 the content is huge and the pvp endgame stuff is continues after you hit 50 and ever changeing customization will be much larger once the 1.5 patch is out basicaly the content is enough for now and enough will be out by the time cataclysm comes out that i dont think people will leave here for WoW plus many people dislike WoW simply because of what it is and i think a large amount of the players who are for aion think that way

I would try Aion, but I hear the skill system is simpler than WoW's which was to simple for me to play, unless someone cares to argue this point?

If not I'll continue having fun with Civ 4.

WoW, probably. You'd think that, with Lineage 2, they are capable of designing an amazing world PvP game, combined with the western taste of WoW, but it isn't like that, L2's WPvP is far, far superior than Aion's. For everything else WoW's probably better(yes, WoW's PvE is far harder than Aion's bosses and 2600+ arena players are amazing players no matter what comp).

I will check AION just to make sure, but I think Aion will be played by very young cuteness-loving people as the OP. And if there is one thing that puts me off, is Asian cuteness.

The Crying Game?

I thought about Aion, but I decided to watch all the Final Fantasy cinematics instead. That and playing some WoW atm. I can't get past the Asian art style. Say what you want about WoW, but fighting pokemon-style mushrooms with a character that looks like a clothing store manequin wearing a chinese dragon costume for armour is something you don't see in WoW. Not yet at least, thank god.

I still think Aion looks like a great game, but the art style isn't for me. If it's for you, have fun =)

I thought someone was bad mouthing WOW and needed Zorndorf's underlined one sentence paragraphs asap.

I love Darkfall too.  Playing it right now, and will play it while I play Aion with friends.

Still though it's funny that Aion gets slammed for graphic style over WoW's ridiculous over the top rainbow armor sets with men wearing shoulder pads that are at least 50 times larger than anything from the 1980's. (Had to fuel the debate haha)
