Been reading about the subscription fees applied on the Asian version where you buy a certain number of hours of playtime... Why can't we get something similar in NA and EU ?

Since my gaming time turns more around 15 hours a week, I'd love to be able to save some cash on the subscription fee... Most of the games I left were because I couldn't find enough gaming time to make the 15 $ a month profitable...

If this payment model works in Asia, why don't they implement it on this side of the planet ?

Any clue... ?

Because most gamer in Asia , plays in internet cafes and as far as I know, 105 hours in China servers costs around 9$. So maybe this option is good for some players, but not for all and I believe not for even half of them :)

So no, 15$ per month is a good price here (EU/NA), since 90% + plays from home !

The culture on how we play games makes a huge difference. I doubt you'd be saving either, it would probably turn out to be 50 hours = $14.99 or something, they wouldn't keep the same price from China to North America, they have to pay higher wages to staff here.

Hold on. You feel that 60 hours of thorough entertainment every month isn't worth 15 dollars?

Do you have any idea how much it would cost to get yourself 60 hours of entertainment through other means, like cable TV, going to the movies, playing through a single-player title every month, etc?

Yea, this is kind of what I was thinking.

I'd rather have the flat fee and unlimited use.  Even if two of those four weeks are spent on vacation, I'd rather not have to log my hours like a cellphone.

Still... Would be nice to see a different approach on the subs fee. Don't think a whole lot of games really deserve a 15 $ monthly from its player base in order to stay efficient.

A better idea would just to allow both of them. Keep your casuals happy with a specific amount, and your HxC players able to pay their monthly fee and play 6/7 (of course im not gunna say 24/7 cause thats just rediculous.).

Agree with this guy. Think, going to the movies with just you and your girlfriend these days for 2 hours of entertainment will probably run you $16. The 60 hours you get for $15 when playing an MMO is far more profittable when thinking in this manner.

Ya i feel the same. $15.00 a month is a very good deal for unlimited fun. Every thing eles could cost a ton more . Movies , golf , ect.

Played Aoc/DDO/FFXI/WAR
Playing Aion / Champions Online / LoTRO

Same here. This could extend into payment models. I think it would bring in more players to enjoy the game.

In europe we pay 12,99 euro/ month and i wouldnt trade it for the asian system for anything. I mean, imagine i feel like just talking to my guildies for an hour of two, i probably wouldnt so i wont spend game time =P

Not to mention that with the personal store system i see myself going afk to do some errands for an hour or two once in a while and will be leaving my character selling some stuff on the village

Playing: Aion, World of Warcraft, Dragon Age Origins
Waiting for: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIV
