I'd rather not bore the community with a long story about why i'm looking for a new game in simple terms. I was keylogged, and thus my World of Warcraft account was hacked. Everything my main owned was sold and mailed to another toon, everything in my bank shared the same fate. The person even went as far as to steal from the bank of the guild im in, use all my badges to buy and sell frozen orbs, and go out for an hour farming saronite from under the surface of wintergrasp by fly hacking. I spent 2 hours going through procedures to get my account back (would have been faster if he didnt also change the password of the email i used to register the account.

Anyways, I have the account back but I've honestly been thinking about quitting for a decent amount of time now, and I actually have a legitimate reason besides boredom to do so.  So put short, i'm looking for a new game to play, this is coming from someone who was bored when it came to World of Warcraft endgame, raiding and pvp alike. I'm looking for something with more variety. Suggestions?

Try a little spice.  There are two skill based games on the market currently, one started the MMORPG industry, the other was just released a couple months back.  Ultama Online is a 2D sprite game, is 13 years old, and is the first mainstream MMORPG on the market.  Only one other game has tried to do what UO did, a skill system.  Darkfall.

Everything else on the market is an Everquest clone, this includes World of Warcraft.  So if you seek another game, all you are going to be playing is Warcraft(EQ).  Do you want to try something different?

I agree with 4Renziks on this one.

If you want something 'else' than the normal EQ/WOW Grind Fest, then EVE is a completely different style of game.

But maybe there should be something I should say about EVE, it is a bit more of a 'thinking' and Mature game, it is an RPG but runs differently than most [i.e. you don't have 'Levls' as such, but your skills train in Real Time and no you don't need to be logged in for this to happen].

I've played EVE Online for quite awhile on and off, so if it does tickle your fancy [as such] then send me a holla and i'll try my best to stay in contact and explain anything you want to know.

Also... Asheron's Call, the main competitor of Everquest back in its heyday and a game which was much more open ended and skill based.

Pffft, Darkfall. While I agree WoW is just a modern day Everquest, that doesn't mean every MMO out there is the same thing.

OP, don't pay any attention to the rest of this side discussion that got started by the Darkfall fanboy. What kind of game are you looking for? And perhaps more importantly, which ones have you already played? I don't think anyone can really suggest anything for you without the anwsers to these two questions.

With what little info you gave us... I would suggest City of Heroes. It doesn't have any real PvP to speak of (its in there, but most people ignore it) and you don't need to grind end-game content for gear, because there is no gear. So that would atleast give you a change of pace from WoW. If you want something newer, Champions Online is about to release, which is pretty much the exact same game as CoH (its even made by the same people) so it will have better graphics but probably a LOT less content.

If the super hero thing isn't your bag then maybe Guild Wars if you have never tried that.

To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may. ~Mark Twain

Take a break, have some fresh air, and then return to WOW. No place is better than home.

like others have said eve online, it offers something different to the standard raid, loot, repeat games if you can get into it.  I hear darkfall is also improving slowly.

Unfortunately most games are going to offer you the same thing as wow but with different picture, so if that's what you are after you can take your pick.

and an fyi on swg as suggested I would honestly look into it further before trying it and it is the standard raid, loot, repeat wow clone just very badly done
