The beta test for Fallen Earth will come to a close at midnight on September 1st, 2009. But that doesn't mean you can't party like it's 1999 (or 2156, but who's counting?) before the world ends! To celebrate the end of beta, the developers will be throwing an "Apocalypse Party" on Saturday, August 29th from 3-6PM EST.

Players who attend the party will receive special food and drinks that grant a variety of buffs. Players will also be eligible to receive up to seven items that will grant a 15% boost each, for a duration of one hour, and these buffs will persist through death as well. The XP boosting items will be granted at every half hour from the start of the event, through to the events end. So if you're on from beginning to end, you should get all seven! These items will be redeemable when the game goes live on September 15th, 2009.

For more information on the Apocalypse Party end of beta event, check out the official FAQ here.

Can't wait for launch. Enjoyed my time in Alpha/Closed Beta/Open Beta. It's not perfect (what game is) but it has what I want in a departure from the WoW/Aion/LOTRO path. Not saying those games are bad, they just don't appeal to me.

Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

Isnt LotrO and Fallen Earth more simillar than comparing LotrO and Aion?

I actually enjoyed playing FE in beta but its not my kind of game since I dont like crafting and the combat didnt feel right.

If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

It certainly has one of the more robust crafting systems I have seen.

I don't know that I cared for the combat system, but I wish more companies would look at crafting systems like this..

Bah I thought it was a real event instead of food buff give away.

Like..a second apocalypse...permadeath..last man standing wins...something cool.
Or any event really...

Good luck with them consumables!

Well, I suppose it could because we all see things slightly different. I just like the "scrounging" feel FE has in that you don't really have or hang on to items forever. I also like that FE is setup to include Sectors that could possibly be factioned player controlled, kind of like 0.0 space in EvE. LOTRO and Aion (to my knowledge) aren't setup to allow for those things down the road. They are just a steady stream of directed content. FE is setup to have directed content as well as player generated, sandboxy content.

I think for such a small Indie company they did a good job with what they had.  Its good to see some companys try new things and give players the sandbox feel.  The crafting is robust but the combat is lacking which I think will turn off alot of gamers such as me.  Best of luck in FE everyone.

You mean the one where you craft items while fighting, buying, sleeping, etc...?

Doesn't seem or feel right to me. Sorry, if all I wanted was crafting then I'd still pass.

The best thing that Fallen Earth has going for it is that it's not CrimeCraft. Seriously though, they do have a decent fan following but it's a niche game so that following isn't great in numbers by any means. They have a serious amount of work to do before launch and if they don't delay it any further than I really feel sorry for the devs, with the lack of sleep that they will get over the next 3 weeks. They have there work cut out for them but I'll be watching from the sidelines on this one and that's a shame with the high hopes that I once had for the game. Hopefully they won't fall to the same fate as MxO and AutoAssult, which in my opinion launched with similar levels of quality and readiness.

You've got a tough road ahead of you Fallen Earth. Best of luck.

This sentence is false.

I agree I though there crafting system was prety well built  and I loved the way they did their resource spawns  (not evenly distributed nuggets)  it felt prety natural

the only thing i didnt like about the crafting system was there wasnt any player creativity   its all prepackaged recipies  and of course there is no costume clothing tab  or clothing toggles for charactors   which makes about HALF of the clothes a total waste of time especially above 5th level its forced over to STAT CLOTHING/ARMOR  (dumb)

there are many other deficiencies in failed earth  and im not going to follow it to live even though apocolypse is one of my favorite genres (it has little to offer veteran players  its just a generic production game that was slaped together half assed)

make a world, not a game, we dont want another game.

I keep this list to sho prospective players some of the larger defeciencies  in game are in my opinion

a few things still on my list...

water ditch in monkeytown water is a non interactable mass and its easy to get stuck between the sides of a ditch and the water
travel times overly long (steam train)
costume clothing / clothing toggles
crafting que
radiation barrier defined more obvious,, with rad meter clicker
vehicles need vehicle physics (jumping)
horse population gonna be a problem after release as in 100+ horses standing in oil
repeatable quests not identified
need grenage physics includes the poisons and acids
need shotgun physics not slug
shotgun damage out of wach 410 is the smallest NOT the bigest (12,20,410)
factions are wattery and have no unique contrast.
no player chat channels
no tiered clan bank security
need more player choice in crafting dyeing or other customizations like a blue mororcycle or green berret or spicy chicken (vs normal chicken)
no /follow command
no /drag command

I would have to say even though steam train and shotguns are important to me,, I would have to say the number 1 thing that needs to be addressed is the vehicle physics

you may not agree with everything but it might give you a bit of prospective

and I dont expect anything on this list to be addressed in the next 3 weeks, all they will be doing is spit and polish  and hopefully  get that dreadfull performance higher (i got a playable 12fps  but i should have been getting 20-30+fps on my machine with this type of engine,  graphic level is adaquite for gaming if they can just get the performance there)

I sugest holding off on FE for about 6 months to a year and then taking another look at them they might be up to speed by then. if not they will join games like SEED,  auto assault, SWG, age of conan.

make a world, not a game, we dont want another game.

I hate MMOs being solely combat-oriented and I'm all for living breathing world sorta MMO design with a heavy emphasis on crafting, but still... This one let me down. The world itself is fine, but none of the sub-systems felt solid to me.

I enjoyed that game.

And the Freedom sort off reminded me of SWG.

It really was pretty different if you ask me.

I enjoyed it and will be there to see open beta away. I will also be there on launch when things get for real as well.. I like the open world feel.. Not a big giant glob of instances like some other games I will not speak of, but I am happy to see that this indie company came out of nowhere to make such a immersive world.

I don't say this much about games buuuuttttttt.....

This game is a giant buggy yawn turd.

I don't see the great stuff about the crafting system.  I personally didn't like everything being created on a timer.  Yes I can go do other things in the mean time, but what if I don't wanna?  I don't understand why companies don't somewhat replicate the old school SWG crafting/mining/finding system.  IMO it has far out done anything else out there.

I really can't see the appeal of this game.  I can't see this game being around all that long.

- A "post- apocalyptic wasteland" with very gimped PvP. It's all good for a moment, then you realise how damn safe and sleepy the game world feels.

- Big, multi-faction clans that make the whole faction and lore setting meaningless. It's like Taurens and Dwarves in same guild "cos it's fun".

After being there from alpha to this day, I think I'll pass.

I'm going to pre-order this one. It beat my expectations. I love the setting and the combat system was a refreshing change. Plenty here to keep my interest until new content and improvements come along. All-in-all I don't have any complaints. Sorry to see my sword wielding cowboy die, but looking forward to starting over on the retail version.
