I've played since launch, and never really understood crafting. However, when the Isle of Dawn came out, I rolled an alt and did every single quest on the island.. including the entire crafting series. (no bugs - except civic diplo levers weren't working right when I was on the Isle). Now I'm completely hooked on crafting and am enjoying it immensely. So I couldn't agree more, a good tutuorial makes all the difference in the world as to whether someone will throw their hands up in frustration or really get into the sphere. The mainland tutorials are not nearly as detailed as the ones on IoD, so if it wasn't for IoD I would have never tried crafting again. With regard to the OP. The quest line is not bugged, we have alts or new guildies go through it on a weekly basis. Zero bugs. However, even when they do follow the quest line and instructions closely they still have questions. Such as, where do I get a resonating powder, or how do I equip a ruler, how do Iearn a new ability, how do I allocate my points, or how do I switch tools to address complications, or where do crafting supplies go after I buy them, what tools should I get for outfitting, etc. etc. etc. So even with the tutorial there is a lot to learn, but once you have the basics down, they'll apply throughout one's crafting career. In fact, even with the tutorials, I would suspect most folks would need to go to VGcrafters, ask in guild, or ask in regionsay, or ask in the crafting channel (not sure if this is available for trial), to get it all figured out. |

Yeah, I believe you couldn't figure something out. By the way you form sentences, it's hard for me believe its actually bugged, because all the stuff you said doesn't work... It does. _______________________________ |

There was a guy today complaining about the same thing, how the crafting quests were bugged and how it was a POS game that should have this shit fixed since the game has been out for over 2 years. He couldn't figure out what ingredients he should use to create something for his first quest. He was complaining that his recipy was a blank slate with no information whatsoever and then all the sudden that his quest recipy was gone. Since i have created 5 crafting toons on the newbie island and one quite recently i had a feeling the issue was on his end. Sure enough after talking to him in private tells going through each step carefully with him restarting the tutorial it turns out he never figured out he had to 1. equip his tool belt 2. equip his tools in his tool belt 3. actually read the dialogues
The game has enough bugs sure, there is really no need to make up new ones that doesn't exist. if i hadn't taken the time to help this whining joker out I'm sure he would have quit in frustration and go on a message board like this complaining about bugs as well. As much as i would like everybody to play Vanguard again so it can get the much needed attention it deserves IMO ..I'm also kind of glad the game is able to weed out the stupid ones early on. |

Yeah, I made all the same mistakes when I first started crafting. Luckily, I knew some crafters to check with. I didn't have tool belts equipped, or didnt' have the right tools in the right belts, or didn't know I could select different tools during crafting... etc. etc. etc. It's second nature to me now, but it took practice. |
