Hi I'm fairly new to Aion (never played it but I've been following it for some time, reading info and such like) and I was wondering: What role does the ranger play in Aion? What I mean is, I've played other RPG and I have found that the ranger dies quickly if they can't run away- and if they do run away they never do any damage. I've always loved the ranger class but I want it to be more of a sniper sort of profession - can I expect any thing to this effect (skill or general damage wise) from the ranger class in aion?
thanks |

rangers do rather sick burst damage in aion and have plenty of CC toys to keep themselves alive. Darkfall News |

Hmm ok, thanks. I think I'll give the ranger a go and if it proves not to work out I can always go a different path. I've just thought of another question- what's the level cap? I can't believe I haven't seen any mention to it yet |

I can't believe how little research people do on their own. |

it would be magic accuracy. according to kilkil no1 ever stack it yet. korean prefer dmg over anything esp most sin cc already chances based. sin can finish off opponent while the target is stunned for a few seconds. stacking magic acc would reduce the dmg output. i wonder if they could finish the opponent should they do that. i would imagine sin have low base magic acc and impossible to cap it. (kilkil stack 1500 magis res, in other words, u need more than 1.5k to counter it) if you planned to stack magic acc, i suggest you gank with another full dmg sin.

I can't belive this thread is still going, this was the first info about Aion that I read weeks ago, thanks for all the info, and for turning me on to Aion! I have a question about how medals are given out in sieges, I read on another forum that only the top few dps on the guardian boss get gold medals, some lower dps get silver, everyone else gets only kinah. Is this still true, if this is wrong how does it work? Did you have trouble getting medals as a cleric, what about the chanter in your group? ( I plan on playing a chanter ) |

Anyone have any info of the gold and silver medals awarded in fortress seiges you need to buy Abyss gear? I heard that only the top 10 people get medals and its based on damage. This could be false i'm just hoping someone here has an answer. |

hi there!
thanks kilkil, i just read the complete thread , very informative, good work.
if you are still around u may can answer me a few questions about the new stigmasystem (chanter): 1) some1 allrdy mentioned it, but the new Buff - Blessing of Protection - does it stack with the old buffs? 2) Chant of Invincibility - nice name, but what stats does this mantra have exactly? 3) ??? ('Yusugyeok' or something, if the forum replace it again with ?? - it's needed with Inspiration Incantation to get Magic Recovery)<-- what does this skill do? 4)Can u translate the following 2 Skills?
ok this one can only be the hot 771hp/2sec,right?
5) the Enhancement mantra givs 500 stun resistance.. is it better then magical resistance? shall i use other manastones, when i have the mantra? after i read this thread i think i will go 60%hp 40% magic resistance thanks in advance greetings from germany
genbatzu =)

Great video! Can't wait to play. It looks like allot of the combat is with ranged weapons/spells. Is that true? |

Originally posted by genbatzu Did not mean to step on the OP's thread but I would like to answer this one. Magical resistance and stun resistance are two different things. Stun resistance: Mostly caused by melee attacks (Templars & Assassin's). This skill will prevent these classes to stun/stunlock you. This skill will not resist magic based attacks. Magic resistance: Mostly caused by Sorcerers, SM's, Cleric's. Resist most of there attacks or reduce the damage ? Magic resistance is also noted to resist stuns by sin's (the sins stun skills are magic based I guess). Add magic resist stones on your gear in order to counter the magic classes. Use the stun resist skill when going up against Templars & Sin's. |

Originally posted by Mykell From my limited experience from C-Aion. I only solo'ed in china (I was more into testing each class and finding which one was best for me). I never took part in a fortress raid, Only did one instance dungeon, Very little pvp to speak of (wanted to save it for NA). I made several lvl30+ chars. With all that said I still got a few silver metals!! I was in a chinese legion for a very short period and I think this is how I got the metals (Not sure really because it was so long ago). Top ten and highest DPS'er does not sound right to me. I think it involves being in the guild and if you are in the party / parties that is attacking the fortress (there maybe rewards for just stright pvp kills also but not sure). These medals are also sold in auction house, So if your not much into pvp and spend most of your time in pve or crafting there is an option to buy them.
I'm sorry there are so many holes in my reply but it's the best I could do.

Yeah i knew they sold on the broker but if only the top 10 dps on a fortress raid got them i imagine they would be expensive beyond belief. Good to hear you got some silver medals from somewhere besides a fortress seige. As a templar i just hate to hear that getting gear might be based on dps lol. Cheers for info. |

After reading this wealth of information, I'm still torn on which class would be best with a spiritmaster in both pve and pvp. Cleric, Chanter, or Sorc.. Anyone have any insight? |

Can anyone give me their opinion of healing in both Aion PvP and PvE? I'm intrigued by both priest classes, and am having a difficult time deciding. I enjoyed both Chanter and Cleric in Beta. I'm assuming that a Chanter can place a focus on utility, dps, or heals.. Does Cleric have this versatility as well? |
|
|
Also, can anyone confirm if Chanters are able to serve as main healer for a group at endgame? Or are Clerics definitely preferred? |

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. |
are assasins useful in group pvp like this? |
|
thanks for great info. I have a question about pve. does Aion 1.5 has many end game pve ? I worry pvp wont keep many players long. It happened on almost all pvp mmo games. but wow is still the one with huge population since its pve content is larger than other games. |

Originally posted by projekt128 My understanding is clerics will be the main healing class with chanters more a hybrid class that buffs, dps's and throws in a couple of heals here and there. Clerics get way more heals, group heals and are the only priest who can cure/dispel. |
