So me and my GF are in a dilemma. She wants to play a spiritmaster and I want to either play as a gladiator or templar. If we work at it, do you think spiritmaster/glad or spiritmaster/templar would be an effective PVP combo? Neither of us want to play as a chanter or cleric. We will probably end up playing what makes us happy as we well should. But I just wanted to get some thoughts on this duo. Thanks. |

Girlfriends come and go but Epic battles are Soulbound |
It should work out ok for both of you. You can always meet someone that is a chanter or cleric later in the game that can help out in the healing when you go up against Elites, bosses, and pvp. Play the class you like and go from there. |

the only downside i see is the spirit master. Sms are beasts in pve but they are not up to par in pvp( pets cant fly, ect) |

Well for pvp any 2 classes are going to be able to run around and take out solo players. For a 2 on 2 I'd prolly go with a gladiator over a templar because you will need to focus on burst dmg to take out one person if you run into a healer/dps combo. |

Really any combination can work if you're good.

While its true that any duo has the potential to be successful, you stand a greater chance of enjoying the overall experience if you play two classes that have some synergy. A class capable of tanking with a class capable of healing makes the most optimized duo, and is most likely to meet with success no matter what they try to tackle.
The real question is, are you confindent you'll be able to find regular, reliable healing? If you do, then you'll be alright. Otherwise, your duo will have to behave in much the same way that a solo player behaves - constantly bandaging and potioning, and progressing more slowly because of increased downtime.
I've heard people often say "just play what you like," but over the years I've found that I had more fun and was more likely to reach the endgame of a game when I chose a class complimentary to what my friends play. |

I dont think so, but if pets can fly then i may rethink my "Sorcerer over SM" decision. |
