As the title says, will you reroll? As with previous expansions, it brings in lots of new players but many old players leave aswell. This is no doubt because after all that hardwork raiding, they simply don't want to level to the cap and do it all over again. I have found that by rerolling a new class each expansion i can enjoy the content again and not feel like i have placed too much time and effort into one character. Cataclysm brings lots of interesting new race/class opportunities, will you make a new main or build apon your current? |

The problem is .... this is NOT just another expansion. A normal expansion spreads out the population over another high leveled zone. Thinning out the players base if done too often. This "thing" reintroduces old Azeroth with a changing historic theme. You adventure the "new" toon in a complete new history line... By doing it they effectively "regroup" the players and the play around the center core of the game with a new story. That's why a lot of people already saw this is WOW2. it relaunches the game into its core Azeroth design with upped grahps BUT with the added new techniques already seen in WotlK (phasing, vehicule combat, rated BG's this time and new PvP zones to battle over in the old places). It is a unique new way to handle an expansion: regrouping the players into "changed " but very core Azeroth. It creates a historic cycle within the game and it concentrates the player's base. |

i fail to see how this expansion will "regroup" players. You will still truck along doing most of it solo, the odd group quest here and there and the rest of the time will be spent getting all those epics in either an instance, a battleground or an arena. |

As it stands, there is little reason to resub for this xpac. It almost reads more like a patch. |

I was wondering something. If the Cataclysmic Azeroth will be "phased", as the terrain and all the paths will be altered, how will the rerolls interact with it? As I understand it, phasing means somes objects of the world can't be seen by the players unless they complete some requirements (here for exemple, the Cataclysm). So let's imagine you are a new Orc Warrior, and you go into the Barrens. How will the Barrens look? If the Cataclysmic Barrens are phased, then you should in theory see the Barrens as they were until now, while the lvl 80 chars should see it as Revamped Barrens. BUT, the purpose of the whole revamp being to re-unite the players, you, as a new Orc Warrior, would be able to see the lvl 80. So far so good then. BUT, the Barrens (old) and the Barrens (post-Cataclysm) don't have the same terrain, and there is a huge fissure in the new one. So, when you as lvl 2 Orc Warrior travel across the Barrens, you won't see the fissure, whereas the lvl 80s will se you walking in the sky above the fissure? I don't know if you see what I mean, but I was wondering how things will work out. I'm not even sure the old Azeroth will be phased or not, this was just all theoretical. Please enlighten me :) |

The new world wont be phase. It will be change permenatly for all, whether you are lowbies or high level, both will be sharing and playing in the same world. As a new players you will no longer see the old world, you only get to hear it from "veterans" how the old world is like...

I will of course try out the new races, but i don't see them at the moment being anything more than another alt to mess with. The one thing that did peak my interest (my sad geek side seeping through) was the chance to finally play a Human Hunter, it is the one race/class combo i could never understand being in the original game to be honest. The human starting area is a perfect hunter environment and i never fealt comfortable with NE or Dwarf hunters for some reason, so that one is a definate for me. It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

I believe part of the original discussion on why there were no Human Hunters involved the animals lack of trust of people (as far as the pet bit). This is a topic that is covered quite a bit in fantasy, in regards to Human Rangers being rare compared to Elven Rangers and the like. On the other hand, Elves and forest critters and Dwarves and mountain critters has been rather commonplace. It will be interesting to see how many people end up rolling an old race new class combination compared to a new race as they experience the new old content. |

You know, I gave that some thought. I left pre-TBC and if I were to come back they'd all be level 60 and outfitted in various states of laughable gear. (remember the Druid moose antler helmet?) So if I were to come back , I'd probably reroll one of the new races or at least one of the new race/class combos and experience the rebuilt world all over again, esp since end game raiding would not be my ultimate goal this time around.

If it's new quest lines and the sort all the way to 60 ... I probably would. If not, I dont know how I could take anotehr class to 60+, I already have 7 at 70+ and the only class I havent hit 60 with is a warrior. So it would have to be radically different which It looks like it will be. Oh and Im the guild leader of my guild which is called Cataclysm, :p |

Yea i have always wanted this to happen, The only thing i think is a shame is that they arent updating the race models i think they will look slightly out of place next to the new race's like they did when tbc came out. Shame about that there isnt a new class or two either missed oppurtinity for some kinda goblin techno ranger thingie. |

i will agree with Sharkkhan ( some posts above me). I won´t reroll to Cataclysm, i just see it as pieace of crap in my eyes. Vanilla WoW was the only fun part in World of Warcraft when you had more Challenge in the instances / raids , me myself are an old schooler from Vanilla wow , and i realy enjoyed the times back then , but blizzard have dissapointed me realy huge now. i´m moving over for Aion because of the amount of challenge they have in that game + another graphic motor. Also i don´t wanna play Cataclysm wow , its just mostly a copy - paste xpac. They promised before WOTLK that they will release 1 new hero class each xpac after wotlk , and they are to lazy now and don´t do it... + they also promised a better grapic motor , and so far i looked on the movies / screenshots they putted up and ingame shows , i don´t see any new graphic . So no i won´t reroll it .
Thanks for me from Namiee =) |

Definitely a Blood Elf Warrior. :)

A lot depends on what happens in Aion as to whether i return to WoW . By the time this Xpac is released Aion will have been out a year or so theres plenty of time to enjoy that in the meantime . I dont have a huge amount of faith in Blizzard anymore so i would nt be in any hurry to rush out and buy this but if what i hear from people i know in game is possative i may try it at some point . If i do it ll be a Goblin i would play so yes i would definatly re roll . I personally think a lot of this is hype though and the fundamentals of what has made WoW dull and tired for me wont change . Without that happening all Blizzard is doing is trying to polish a turd . Of course there will be final fantasy and the new star wars mmo released around the same time . They may be more appealing than going over the same old ground again even if that ground is revamped . |

Oh yeah. I've wanted to play an Undead Hunter for some time and I'm anxious to play a Troll Druid. I'm looking forward to this expansion. |
