BlizzCon '09 brings us the announcement of the third expansion to World of Warcraft. The new expansion, entitled "Cataclysm", is blown apart in this explosive reveal trailer!

Nice.. it looked really cool but it would be nice if there would be more than another 10000 quests and higher lvl cap.

I've always loved the old world very much and it drove me nuts being locked out of all that content you'd find and almost 5 yrs later still can't access it till now!  Cataclysm is severely tempting me to return to Azeroth and begin preparation for its launch now!

Only problem is what side do I wanna play on....Alliance which I've done a ton of, or Horde not so much, but I prefer the Worgen and do plan to play them over the Goblins...hrm

haha theres so much more to this expansion then new quests and 5 more levels it isn't even funny

Looking at the Highlights from the trailer: .... it really doesn;t seem so. Every trailer for WoW (at least lich king and burning crusade had it) has something like: Oh look we have new monsters and items.. and that's all. I believe it will be fun to discover Azeroth again. It will be propably very fun to see all those familiar places after the cataclysm but don't tell me that this trailer showed some revolutionary new aspects of WoW. More quests and guild leveling system isn't exactly new and exciting.

Anyone else feel like they weren't watching a Blizzard trailer?

I dunno it just seemed kind of corny. Especially the narrator's voice.

I guess the cinematic trailer wasn't ready in time for Blizzcon?

The cinematic releases with the games released, Happened with WOTLK too, wotlk had an unofficial trailer for blizzcon and an official one for release.

What else is there but increased level cap and more quests??

All in all it does look like its going to be fun. I may run a wog up. Depends on whats involved, and how busy I am at the time.  I currently have two 80's and a 71 and 70.  I'll likely run both of them up to 80 before the new expansion arrives.

During all of this, I had no idea until now that they are opening Gilneas.  That sold it for me.

Knowing that they are going back to original content from lore and opening it up to be something...just gets me giddy.

Now, if they will figure out how to open Grim Batol, I'll be even more giddy.

grimbatol is open, its the location of deathwing (the main bad guy), there's dungeons inside and opens the way to a new zone.

Don't play it then.....

All this content is what current players want so if you don't like it then shut up and play something else.

It could be intresting Im sure I will buy it doubt it will keep me around for long but it should be fun for a month or 2. I wonder how they are going to do the cataclysm its self, rework the world for every one as part of the free content assoceated with the expansion or instance it so that the whole expansion is limited to highlevel play.

It could be an opportunity for them to really freshen up the game, it could use some brush up to the look as well as some of the game play, the race class combination changes are not a bad idea but I am intrested to see what the Titan bit is about.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Overall I enjoy trailers where they show you much ingame, but from Blizzard I always love their cinematic trailers, gives me hope one day we might be playing games that look that way.

But of course hope that the expansion will be good for those enjoying or planning to play WoW.
