That was frickin' EPIC. This game is gonna set a new standard in interactive entertainment on a whole as we know it. It is the only game in development that I'm really excited about. When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there! |

Now we can understand why Bioware held back on releasing these clips for so long. I think what we are looking at is pretty much a very simple, very, very simple indeed online single player game 'with benefits'. That's not a bad thing - in fact it could be very good - but, at this early stage, there were a number of elements revealed that disappointed me: - Simplicity is evident. - the hotbar only had 12 buttons. My WoW UI has a double rows of ten to the left and right and a further pair of hotbars on the right. That's sixty actions, I can choose from, both in and out of combat. - We now know that our own toons will 'speak'. That means, I suggest, a very low level of customisation indeed. - I was suprised at how similar the Bounty Hunter and the Sith looked alike. Though they were of different heights, the huge shoulders and tiny waists of both characters were not appealling. - The dialogue was, to say the least, clunky. George Lucas could have written better . - The 'landscapes' looked rich and varied but also very restricted. Notice that there were no forked paths or multiple doors? You go down one path and you just follow it where it takes you. These are my own personal reactions to what I saw. I must admit, I was hoping for more. Possibly, as the game is polished for a 2010 launch, my concerns will be answered. |

Combat just looked way too easy. There wasnt a single time from fighting low level scum to the jedi knight fight where you wondered would he win or not. I prefer more challenging combat personally and hope this isn't indicative of what it will be like on release. |

Does not look like a MMO at all. Just looks like a Star Wars Adventure game. |

Agreed. It might well be great but it's not an MMO. It's a SPG Online with some cooperative elements. |

If it was the setting of the films and the original cast doing them, I would care. It's going to be strangers voicing strangers. Voice overs are not gameplay.
I care, I love the voice acting component. |

Looks like a game that I will definitely be playing, but I admit the graphics are much more dated that I would have expected. I also agree it is probably a bit more single player oriented than most mmos, but that's fine for me. I love the voice acting and story element to the game, and it's nice to see all the choices and dialogue options. I think it's very cool that each class has its own story and starting zone. I'm curious as to how far in the game you advance in that manner though, as there would only be people of the same class in your area until the story lines merged. |

Why should they be he makes a very valid point.
Combat did look exceptionally dull and boring and I second the opinion I really hope this isnt it at release and they where perhaps using OP'd demo chars or something.
Because if your taking down mobs like that all the time then its gonna get real boring real fast. |

Might I suggest you never again play an MMO.
Or any video game for that matter.
Next up: Toolboxes complaing about air. IT SHOULD DO MORE. |

This game looks to be ridiculously fun and stays semi true to the KOTR games. Heck Even Korriban looks exactly like it does in the console games.
I am exicted.
I wasn't expecting sandbox/skill based but I was hoping for something different and not just copy-paste WoW stat system. |

Yes I did know. For me it seems kind of silly that weapons & other items increase character agility or something else. Makes sense in medieval fantasy with magic but not in star wars. Über Sith Sword of Pwnage +1500 agility. Like I said before I was expecting something different. |

Hmm I thought that this game would be a huge hit but after watching theese videos Im getting sceptic. It didnt look very impresive at all and the voice overs was really bad... But Im not a big SW fan anyway. (but I was 15 years ago before the IP began to go downhill :p ) If WoW = The Beatles |

Next up: Toolboxes complaing about air. IT SHOULD DO MORE. Congrats on posting complete nonsense. Why not try and come up with a counter argument next time. I agree combat will get old fast if its that easy. Any type of game will get boring if there isn't some type of challenge to it. When i first starting playing FPS i only played against the AI till i got bored with beating it too easy and now i prefer actual people to play against since it is more of a challenge. This applies to mmo's for me. Played them for years so i prefer them to be more challenging not less. |

I hope they'll realize soon that SW: TOR won't be the first fully voice acted MMO and stop talking like it is- just makes Bioware seem silly =P

Originally posted by Hyanmen I think they have a right to, since it will be ;) Even if another MMO comes along and says "We'll have full VO too!", TOR will have more. 40+ novels of content with every line voiced is astounding. The only other upcoming MMO I can think of that might even begin to match that kind of level of VO is FFXIV, but they won't have anything like multiplayer dialogue interactions, and probably won't have player voices or extra dialogue options. As for the demo, I thought it was great for a game in pre alpha, although I hope they really improve the animations, the lightsaber sparks, and remove that stupid looking cover system icon. Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV |

Originally posted by Narshe Yeah, it will most likely lack those. However the NPC's and cutscenes will have full VO, so I'd say that it qualifies for the term "full voice acting" as Bioware describes it- and thus will be the first MMO to have it~! The 2 games seem to be more similar than one would think- will be interesting to see which one comes off as the winner.. SE has more experience from the MMO business and can avoid most mistakes a company can do while launching their MMO, but Bioware has the western audiences support and most likely better customer service.. I'd say its 50/50 situation right now!
