Look dude, I have played WoW from release and have cleared all the new content and this is always how it gos I start up again clear all the content have all the best stuff and I quit. The guy has a very good point that is all blizzard does they release these expansions so fast its a fucking mind game they keep you addicted.  PvP is a fucking joke, I seriously think they roll a dice to determine which class will blow balls in arena that month and which one will do best because thats always how it is and thats always how it will be. They'll promise change or promise nerfs but really they just go off on the outcrys of the community and play the cycle a nerf game.  I actually enjoy WoW but what it has turned into just disgusts me.

Considering that this is World of Warcrafts 3rd expansion in 5 years compared to Everquests 16th in about 10 i'd say it's relativly quite slow at churning out xpacs.   I do think that if they were releasing "these expansions so fast it's a fucking mind game they keep you addicted" that they would have more than just 2 out on the market with a 3rd on the way right now.

It looks like every other expansion from every other game out there. More of the "same" that has kept the game going for what will be 5 years soon. I sure wish EQ and DAoC could have kept up that pace. Instead, their expansions really did make the game worse.

In EQ's and DAoC's fifth year both games were past their glory days. WoW really does seem to get better with each expansion. That is an impressive feat, and one I will say EVE has also achieved.

I quit the game last week because I've finally grown tired of it, and now they announce this.  I was hoping to actually do something important with my life, like, I dunno, grow tomatoes or something.   Blizzard are fucking crack dealers.

EDIT - On a side note Noracon, I do not forsee that as entirely true. You will see 85% playing Worgen but only 5% playing Goblin.

Goblin is f*****g lame, but who wouldn't want to try a shapeshifting worgen as a player character. The cool factor is Alliance 1 million to Horde -shit.

Lol UNDERwater mounts FTW.  Bloodey hell the new underwater zone looks amazing.

Though i quit WoW bored to death, this almost got me excited a bit.

But then i remembered that the addon won't be more than the same old  "grind to get gear to grind to get more gear", as the game has really nothing else left to offer.

Also still the same old low polygon count and low res textures everywhere and i even have to say that this starts to get pathetic. With the overuse of lava, fire and burned environment they should at least have revamped the look of it.

The old races are n BAD NEED of a graphical revamp as well.

Well, better depends on your preferences, and of course, many players feel its gotten better with each expansion. (there are some of us who feel it went in the wrong direction, but again, topic for another thread)

I will grant, WOW does keep adding lots of new content with each expansion, and I like some of the directions they are taking with this latest announcement.  Nice to see them bring players back to the original world, something EVE 's always managed to do as well.

New races are good for the roleplayers, no new classes, sort of disappointing, and the opening of all classes to all races takes away from the game IMO, much like it did when they added Shamans/Paladins to the Alliance/Horde sides in the name of balance. (call me crazy, I don't want my games perfectly balanced)

WOW's keeping their subscriber base happy and paying, which is all that matters.

I fully expect my grandchildren to be telling me about their level 235 goblin druid one day, just like the one grandpa used to have in the "old days"

Wonder how this changes achievements?.....achievement whores might want to explore the old Azeroth ...if they haven't already..because some of those achievements might be obsolete. I still want the black war bear....by the time I get in a raid that doesn't fall apart....they'll change that around as well.

You mean I called it right? No, I missed it on the new classes, they added new races instead.  (doesn't cause any balancing issues that way)

Novel idea, going back to the old world sounds like a good plan, no reason to keep expanding ever outward.

I think the 'targeted release' theory is a bit cynical, and assumes Blizzard actually worries about other games.   MMORPGs get released very often, I guess some fans feel like Blizzard is out to get them when they release an expansion pack, but expansion packs get released when they're ready and they're released to make money.

Theres more to do outside, its been rebuilt basicly, as you can now fly, it needs more outside stuff.

Same old same old. Its nice they update game a bit but its still same. played WoW 4 year and im full of it already. no new classes:/ only mixing skills/classes

Whats the  interesting is this 

"Every zones will be revamped with new quests, items, and art. The old world will be a brand new experience and you won't have to deal with the annoying agility/spirit quest rewards anymore."

* The Path of the Titans will let players follow a path (not restricted to classes), this is a new talent system with new skills and passive abilities.
* A mastery system is being added as well, a lot of talents will be reworked to be more fun. The point is to get rid of a lot of the talent skills and not make you spend all your points in a talent tree just because it gives you more damage or higher crit chance.

Eveyrthing on the panel when they wer tlaking was about this expansion will be beigger and better then ever.

Sorry, I've seen the Blizzard hype engine before and not falling for it again.  No matter how much they talk about actually putting resources into PvP or casual content, it's all just to keep luring in the larger market of players so Kaplan and Chilton can subsidize the content for their precious minority population of raiders.  

There are other options for MMORPGs coming out, and it's about time WoW got some real competition. 

Been wanting to roll a druid, but Tauren is too big, and i dont like NE, so personally i like the addition of other class for other race.

IMO they should have expanded it to orcs as well.  Trolls kind of suck, not gonna lie.  I've had a troll rogue for 4 years.  Its just meh.  They dance cool and have chill voice emotes but thats about it.

It is interesting to see the EVE folks complaining about DUST being CCP's NGE compared to the complaints about Cataclysm basically being Blizzard's SOGE.

Nothing in this expansion deals with the reason so many people leave WoW.

Yet at the same time, it caters to those that stay with it day in and day out.

And this is a problem how exactly? WoW is behemoth massive if I was Blizzard I too would be more concentrated on my current players then my potential players considering there's 11.6 MILLION of them.

Im kinda surprised they annoucned this sense Wrath of the Lich King was just released, but anyways, I think it will add some exciting stuff to the game.

I think its cuz they knew that WOFLK was doing badly and they were losing some people and felt that a new expansion that would be much more different, new landscape and races would be much better than a new class since BC did much better than WOLK and what did they provide??? new landscape AND new races, but not a new class/hero...so I think blizzard realized that and began working on this immediately to help recruit the old ex-players back to ol' wow with new contexts, races, and landscapes...

wolf race seems pretty cool, and its nice that they are updateing the old content aswell
