This expansion was really shaped by the community in some major ways, the decision to not raise the level cap was made by the community and no more classes. Overall it looks good, some nice new content to bite into and enjoy. Old players I doubt will intrested because if they dont like the original game why would they like it after an expansion is added? Its not changing the core game.

I'm just gonna keep my eye on the game until the release of expansion and at least a month after it's out, until I make my ultimate decision of re-subing. Of course I'd like if they fixed the current problems in the game that annoy me before expansion even came.

I know it sounds like I'm the cheapest man in the world, but I really like to spend my cash only on things that I truely support. And beer of course.

Absolutely not, and it remains to see what features of that list will actually make it to live, lets not forget the presentation video of WoTLK where they spoke of new dances and so on and up to this day no one knows where they are.

They fail to implement simple interesting features that could make us more proud of raiding and evolving, like Guild Halls with Trophies of achievements etc.

All in all, this will be just the same game it is now inb a different landscape, and its not the landscape that bores me in wow

Playing: Aion, World of Warcraft, Dragon Age Origins
Waiting for: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIV

Since the guild renown system is being implimented though out the entire game, not just with the expansion.  Read about it, it might be interesting to you.  You wont need the expansion for that, which is suppose to be in the next patch.

And i think the new gear, you know the ninja, samurai, monk gear will be the "make you more proud to raid" aspect.

The only way I would ever go back to AoC is if someone other than Funcom owned it and made it worth the $16 monthly fee(international fees included).

Fiction reveals truth that reality obscures.

For me, it will depend on:

  1. The appearance of the Khitan.*
  2. If it is possible to enter most places as private instances with my par
  3. Just how juicily divisive this factional gameplay they're talking about is.

* I very happily admit that I am a rather aesthetically driven gamer, and Age of Conan's high graphics (for an MMO) have always appealed to me, but that all of the males look barely sapient is an effective repellent for me. I need my character to look like he has a frontal lobe at least half the size of a modern human, is no more than 30 years old, and is not deficient in everything but protein and testosterone. Up to now, that has been a problem for me in AoC. It seems to me that there's only one remotely intelligent looking face per race, and barely, at that. Plus, the 'thin' body is very amusing in how thin it's not. At least the Cimmerians have nice skin/hair/eye colors, I guess.

No freaken way! I won't get or come back for that expansion. Not unless Funcom makes some huge big changes.

To much hate, Cheaters using hack programs in PVP and an all around horrible community in that game. on both servers I was on Tynarry and Cimmeria.

The expansion seems to be just more of the same but in a different shade of green, the game will still be very boring.

Also it will be made by Funcom, I don't really want anything more to do with this arrogant company, their stupidity goes beyond comprehension.

Simple Answer: No.
The game is just not what I am looking for in a MMO. Couple that with the fact that AOC is a Funcom game, I dont ever see myself playing AOC ever again. For that matter, I wont be playing any other FC game, past, present or future.

No. To a certain degree it would depend on the expansion but that would assume the expansion changed a lot of the game and not merely added more to it.
