I recently logged back in after an 8 month hiatus and my first instinct was to jump right back into the action with my ranger to do a heirophant/Duncan HM run. I still remember the important aspects of the run dropping FS when needed, and destroying spirits when they pop up. But what I didn't know was that now its common place to run with 4 monks and a necro. It wasn't 5 minutes into the run before I got yelled at for not knowing what I'm doing while I'm sitting here in amazement at them glitching the mobs through the walls, from what I could gather this is the norm now. When did glitching mobs become necessary to run HMs? I remember running it with a balanced group and it being a challenge and actually fun. Whats fun about standing around spamming a single spell while 4 monks spam heals through a wall? I was really dissapointed to find out this is how the game has aged. Now I could be wrong and I hope I am but is this really the way things get done now is by glitching them out? |

I can't honestly tell you when this started happening, as I wasn't doing any of the higher end content 8 months ago, but this is pretty much the face of pugging today. There were 4 monks in the party because Ray of Judgement is currently bugged and enemies won't scatter from it like they do with other AoE. The necro was a 1hp BiP, because it's easier than having an energy efficient build. Unless you're doing something with a guild or with a group of contacts it will be very hard to get a group that isn't running that kind of team build, it's really the only way for PuGs to guarantee some kind of minimal level of competence. |

*Sigh* What happened to the good 'ol days. When people formed balanced parties to do things. Now peole either glitch or solo everything. There are more sins than pimple on a 13 year old boys face and no one ever wants to join a party...they all just grab heroes and henchem and do it themselves. Theres no comradery. like it or not but people, like water, will always follow the easiest path. And i have to admit, one of the challenges of GW is to see if u can beat the dev's/ level designers ( like finishing The Deep in under 12 minutes instead of 2 1/2 hours ) Don't shoot the messenger.....it will ruin you monitor |

Your title is wrong: the game hasn't changed, the fastest way to get through a dungeon has. Essentially what you did was the mainstream way that's the fastest and most PuG-friendly way, if that then means abusing game mechanics and/or retarded gimmicks is unnecessary. If it's slow balanced teams that require large amounts of coordination you want then you'll have to find a guild to do it with. |
