ArenaNet and NCsoft have finally lifted the veil on Guild Wars 2. We know many of you have been waiting with bated breath, and we've got quite the update for you! The official Guild Wars 2 website, which previously housed only a teasing logo, has been updated with the world premiere of the Guild Wars 2 debut trailer. The trailer provides a bit of backstory of the game, told through gorgeous pieces of artwork, and after a bit of teasing, we are finally treated to the first ever gameplay footage of the game. Check it out below!:

It showed off some cut scenes and some footage of the game's engine showcasing different environments and it's inhabitants. There was no game play footage, no footage of someone playing the game... However, it still looked awesome. Seems like they have some talented artists at ArenaNet, there were a lot of interesting environments/locations. Great eye candy. |

Looks really good. I'm especially happy to see that they didn't stick with the old warrior character models for humans. The old one was really bad. This new one looks really good and makes him look like a valiant warrior instead of an ignorant brute. Sylvari are beautiful as well. Overall I'm happy with the trailer but am disappointed they didn't release anything else on the game like class details and such. Good times ahead though. |

a little disappointing... i thought they would reveal more of the game than just a few landscapes after keeping silent for so long. the animated artwork was kinda neat, tho. "And if they break any of the WoW rules, in my book that's pretty dumb." |

That was absolutely awesome! The art style looks pretty similar to the original Guild Wars. I can't wait for this game, if it's anything like the original Guild Wars it will be fantastic! Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

It looks like you'll be able to swim underwater. Unless it's like the Aion trailer where it shows a scene under water but is never put in the game. :-p Can't wait to play an Asura. |

That debut trailer was awesome and ArenaNet art style is a win for me.The landscape and the forest shot were both amazing. In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals... |

I wasn't that impressed. I thought the AoC and SWTOR trailers were better. The game does look pretty good. The trailer just didn't "excite" me. |

A darker version of Aion with some steam punk thrown in? Looks to be an open world but is it all instanced as in GW? We will see. Could be good could be another asian grinder. |

Grinding and Guild Wars do not go together. The first game only has 20 levels. Most of the game you play maxed out. |

Yep, which was one of my favorite things about Guild Wars. Nothing about it was grindy. You could have max gear after a couple of hours of playing and be max level after a day. The game is about playing and enjoying the content and PvP, not about endlessly grinding. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

From the FAQ ( www.guildwars2.com/en/faq/ ): Will Guild Wars 2 be an MMO? Yes. Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world. How is Guild Wars 2 different from other MMOs? While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent-world experience, it retains the unique characteristics of the original game, including strong narrative, extensive instanced gameplay, anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play.

This excites me a great deal. The in-game scenery looks very good, and GW is a well put-together game. I really like the lore of Tyria, so here's hoping this game comes out nicely. The only problem with GW is that the game, while fantastic, keeps reminding me that it is in fact a game. It doesn't feel like a living world, and that can be a problem for many MMO players. *crosses fingers*
For whoever it was that said that this could be another Asian grinder, or anything like Aion at all, I simply must say that perhaps you should play the first GW, or read anything about the game at all before you speak. Arenanet is adamantly anti-grind. They make sure you do not grind. GW was about a well-told story in their campaigns, very difficult "instances" later on, and very serious competitive PvP. |

I wana know:
1) The Classes and their Class mechanics
2) Will this time around, will we have Large Scale PvE
3) How the Large Scale PvP work (The Mist)
4) Will their be enemy Factions
5) Will there be a ecnomy this time around
6) (Said something about Armor not being Class oriented,) so How will it be organised
7) Weapons are not Class oriented ether right
8) Can I fight along side the Dragons at some point
9) Can we fully explore the world
10) How does Jumping work
11)Any new gameplay Mechanics

Looks great. I can't wait to see more, but once MMORPG.com makes a GW2 space for the game, I expect to see this on the top of the hype list... Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic Waiting For: Absolutely Nothing. |
