A swedish site reports that CCP will announce a "new" project on GDC, they seems quite clueless of what it is, they think it is either a expansion for Eve or a new MMO. Anyways, there was already rumours that they would announce WoDO on E3 so I guess it must be it. Here is the link to the page anyways: www.fz.se/nyhetsarkiv/ GDC is in august for those of you who doesn't know and World of darkness online will be an interesting game, or at least I think so :) |

I would not jump to any fast conclusions here, it dosent say its WOD they are putting out. And last I heard ad fanfest 2008 it has been put on hold. I think it has something to do with rumours about them making a consol game, I could be wrong but I think its tied into EvE and is a some sort of single player game. |

It could even be that ambulation expansion for EVE where they're showing off all the new things you can do in EVE and how you should evolve a mmorpg or whatever. |

The CEO of CCP is the keynote speaker at GDC, so perhaps it will be ambulation. Since he'll most likely focus on how you can make a game that evolves over time and continually grows deeper and deeper like EVE has. EVE has the potential to only gain more and more subscribers as it has over the years. But the release date for Ambulation will probably be "soon" like it always has been since 2007... |

MMORPG Character Monuments ...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest... |
WoD is definitly a solid IP choice. However, its all vaporware until I see by beta invite |

on the news page on the EVE site it says that it's CCP's newest project currently in pre-production In his address, Pètursson will discuss CCP’s rise to success from relative obscurity and how the small Reykjavik-based studio overcame the stigma of producing a niche product that’s now one of the largest massively multiplayer games (MMOGs) in the world: EVE Online. As a testament to the industry’s potential for growth despite widespread economic turmoil and as an inspiration for up-and-coming independent studios, Petursson will give an exclusive first look at the company’s latest project, which is currently in pre-production. Sounds like WoDO to me.

So, when I initially heard about the WoD MMORPG, I jumped for joy!
Now, after a little bit of time to reflect, a couple of thoughts enter my mind that are somewhat troubling.
For example, those who have played any WoD game, they know that first and fore-most, the entire setting is about subtlety and discretion. Vampires who blow the Masquerade get tracked by Hunters, or axed by their kind themselves. Same with Werewolves and the Litany. If you go around, spouting that you're a supernatural being, you're going to get snuffed out by humanity. Because no matter what, there are always more of them than you. That being said, I find MMORPGs to inheirantly be dick-waggling competitions. Looks at my rare gear! Look at my cool powers! Look! I shoot fire out my ass while I walk! Etc, etc. Everything is about being bigger, shinier, and more impressive than your peers. However, I find that canon-breaking for WoD, for afforementioned reasons. WoD isn't about dick-waggling. It's about walking softly with a big stick. I hope that this is something being considered, and that White Wolf, and CCP are able to come up with a system where this works.
Secondly, is it oWoD or nWoD? Because nWoD is a bastardization of a formerly amazing setting. I really hope that it is not, but I sense that White Wolf doesn't agree with me.
Ah well. I look forward to it, anyways. |

WoDO now thats a trip....vampires and werewolves would start out supreme and later hand the thrown over to mages and changelings......at first impression this game seems to have several balance issues |

Agreed. Hence, my skepticism. Though I am still routing for it. |

Hmm, why do I think of the old Command and conquer FPS game now? Lets hope it is not anyways, games like that usually fail, even Blizzard pulled the plug on Starcraft: Ghost just before launch, they smelled a failure. |

Wasn't there a quote somewhere that WoD is being targeted at teenage girls or something... Twilight style. I'm pretty sure I saw that around here somewhere.... G A M I N G O N L I N E S I N C E |1995| |

Lol, it was nothing that official. But WoDO will probably have more female gamers than any other MMO, the pen and paper RPG have at least 5 times the number of female players as other RPGs. Not a problem in my book, I wish my pub had the same numbers ;) |

They Showed off a shooter on Fanfest, and they have talked about making a crossover game in the EvE universe. So when im right and its not WOD, I would like all this WoD specualation to END.. CCP will not be making the game anytime soon. So please youst give up! it wont be happening. The MMO market is highly unstable right now AOC, WAR and most of the rest of the games coming out after WOW have all preformed unsuccessfully. CCP would be stupid to start production on a new mmo when they need to gear up to meet the all the SCFI games coming out, star wars the old republic and Star Trek online both look to be going strong in the marketing department and EvE needs to buff up before they are released. Not divert manpower away to another Nich game like WoD.... |

Looks like I was rigth then... No world of darkness. Sorry boys but its a FPS called Dust 514 for the consol market. Just as I told you... Dont think we will be seeing any WoD for the next 5+ years, CCP is back to what they do best EvE and EvE related titles |

ccpgames.com/worldofdarkness/georgia.asp Figure the development to beta time period... WoD is years out until they even alpha it. |
