The Chronicles of Spellborn game is now officially free while it undergoes "redevelopment," according to Acclaim Games Community Manager David Historian DeWald. I just got an email about it. I am already downloading it and am anxious to start playing. Free meaning all the content, no Cash Shop for now, but at the same time no updates or patches. The game has been out for a while now so it must have a pretty good level of polish already. Anyone else gonna join me and get in on this? |

I remember seeing this game in passing a few times. It looked interesting. I'll be downloading this as well, although it might take awhile.
Looks kind of dark and eerie. |

Nobody plays it, and it's very unpolished. |

Played it before, did not like that you could not advance past level 9.9 and could not go out and explore everything, so I deleted the demo after a few hours. Will have to try it again to truly get a feel for it. |

3rd time lucky or IP bans again, hmm. I suppose it has to be worth one last try because of the cool looking graphics. |

I really liked the aiming combat. So much better than tab auto aim. And it worked well with melee, which most games get clucky with, aiming melee that is. Too bad it didn't do better. It's really not a bad game, people are just too damn picky these days.

My pc just does not agree with this game at all, I reinstalled it after I read this post and jumped on to my lvl 9 trickster, and as I always have, had lag issues with my frames, I can barely squeeze 70 frames out of the game at medium to low settings and i sit around 30ish at maxxed out settings but I can not play at all maxxed out because every time I mouse turn my frames drop all the way down and even though its alot further apart I still get the lag with the settings all the way down, dont know what it is I have run Lotro, Aion, Warhammer at full settings and can run age of conan at pretty close to full settings but age of conan also has quite a bit advanced graphics compared to this game, not the artstyle but the graphics themselves. Anyway just wierd anyone else have any lag problems? |

Pure guess from reading various forums but it seems some games have problems with Vista which (apparently) can be fixed by right-clicking the exe and selecting to make it run like windows XP. Not sure if that's relevant or not. |

That's cool if it's free. I always kinda liked it... I'll probably redownload it now... Plus then you'll be all ready for when the redeveopment is done.. and if it's even better then.. then you'll be ahead of everyone. Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic |

I really enjoyed the time I spent in this game, it was interesting and the combat system was more enjoyable than all others Ive tried to date (besides a MUD I still play off and on).
The reason I one day just never logged in again is because of the travel system. That and I couldnt find another mob to grind off of or quest to do that was my level. So...I just didnt log in.
But it really is a good combat system. These three things doth a wise man fear: A storm at sea, a moonless night, and the anger of a gentle man |

The combat system is rather interesting, but if you hate the "Bring me 15 Wolf Meat" type of quests you're going to hate this game. God-awful quests in Spellborn, and bearing in mind the number of MMOs I have played, that's saying something. I hope they've got around to letting you skip the (then) compulsory Tutorial for EVERY character you make. |

The game isn't worth playing, even for free. |

It must have been a patch after I quit subbing and playing. I was tempted, albeit faintly, to dust off my account since it is now F2P, but then I remembered the hideously boring quests and I thought that, even for free, I couldn't be bothered to do any more of them. |
