Instead of optimising the code, they upped the system requirements...in essence, using brute force and hardware to cover up their poor coding.

Granted there have been SOME improvements in performance lately...but nowhere near enough.

THis, more than anything, IMO, might hurt sub numbers for this game.

its true  im only getting about 11-14 fps when with my computer and this type of engine I should easily be getting 20-30+

Well I just was running around Depot 66 and the lowest I got the framerate to stay consistent was 16.  I was hanging out at different spots and got as high as 41 and averaged around 28 ish.  It could use some more optimization but I keep hearing how horrible it plays and its like a slideshow and I haven't seen that happen yet.  I don't have a super computer either. Just a E8400 AtI 4950 and 4 gigs of ram on xp.

go swing by Embry and let me know how you feel after.

The lowest I've ever gotten in Embry is 20 fps and I'm playing on a laptop with a video card the game reports as unsupported. Normal FPS in town is ~30 and outside is around 75. I agree that some optimization should occur becasue the range between highest and lowest FPS seems too large.

I'm gonna have to call bullshit here, unless I see a screenshot. Sorry, man...nothng personal, but for MONTHS we've all been discussing the performance problems in this game, and Embry is the worst case of the problem. Considering that people with top of the line desktops are, and have been, reporting frame rates as low as ONE FRAME PER SECOND in Embry, I'm gonna need to see proof.

Sorry man.

Here you go -- three screenshots. Like I said, ~20 in Embry, which is the lowest. Most other town I get ~30. They are full size images (1920 x 1200). I tried to reduce them, but the were unreadable that way.

Middle of Town

Middle of town, other side of street

Running with horse through town.

Happy now?

Hmm, this game looks interesting at the least, is there a public OB or anything of the sort planned soon?

Ive gotten it to drop to 10 FPS but only for a split second but its so random in Embry one place ill be running and get 30 to 40 fps then i hit a spot and drop to the teens.

So yeah IDK  I was running around for a good 5 minutes just going to random places and my frame rate got better as to where I ran back to the same place where it dropped to 10fps for that split second and I was still gettin about 22-25 FPS.  Yes it could use some improvement for sure but its not game breaking for me cuz I don't need to have high framerates in that town. Now if it were in a place where you need high framerates like a PVP zone and or just any PVE zone where I am fighting at. But so far every place ive had to do combat has great framerates.
