So yeah lost my job for some weird reason yesterday been there 3 years and blam but do not sweat it I will draw unemployment for the first time in my life ...man I don't want to but at same time I have contributed to unemployment for others for 15 years so its my turn ...till i get a new job!
Soooo.....I am looking for a solid ftp i've done the reading and such and what i come the conclusion....ROm and PWI seems the best bet. Now cash shops don't scare me later on but for a month I will be low on cash so my question is....
Suggest me another that I might have missed. I hear good things about atlantica and shayia(spelling) I think Atlantica is neat tried it don't know if I can play it for too long though (also do your guys ever change appearance? my dude looks like a girl so is there armor to make him look cool?)
if its ROM or PWI which one is best bang for the buck and will carry me for a month till I hit cash shop requirements....
Things I dig ...great armor variances and a good pvp setup. I do not mind grinds because I come from the EQ generation...hell even in WOW I would grind out levels just for fun...
So help a jobless bro out with either a suggestion or which one of the ones I mentioned or even a kick ass trial that could carry me for couple weeks to a month....take in consideration though I have played all the big boys...EQ,DAOC,AO,WOW,EVE,LOTRO,WAR....I am an MMO junkie I am sure I missed some :)
Ps forgot I am not into games with cartoony graphics like say free realms or Fiesta... not knocking them just I am an old bastard and I can't get into cartoony anime graphics but I can accept graphics with an Asian slant (even though most of the dudes look like chicks :) |

I have ROM and PWI ready to go and installed...I also have fallen earth opb from fileplanet with champions OB also... Im not sure about champions I tried it just a touch but I just don't really dig the superhero thing....looks like it might be a good game though. haha I did notice it picked my controler up instantly didn't even know you could play it with an Xbox controler...first impression was hey I downloaded COH by mistake but I am sure its pretty solid though. My problems with Open betas is I know my char is going to be gone and I will have to buy and start over....
So yeah time on my hands friends looking for the Mmorpg community to help a brother out! |

I would suggest trying The Chronicles of Spellborn. It went free-to-play not too long ago and it is quite a unique and enjoyable game. |

It's not really card based. You have a number of skills and you build a wheel. Each action you perform turns the wheel. So say at the start you have a 3 sided wheel with 3 slots each. You can equip 1 melee attack to each of the 3 slots, and different ranged attacks to the other slots and as you pick an action the wheel turns. Just a nice little strategical point. It is actually twitch combat and pretty smoothly done. Really a pretty impressive F2P game. Ah and bummer on losing your job. Don't take too long of a break as it makes you a lazy bastard, and employers are criticizising that more these days. Our employer won't higher someone with more than 1-2 months break off work because they think they are lazy or something is wrong with them. I know it is enticing, but keep at it lest you become a lazy liberal slug in our society. |

Coolios and I am going to dl tcos...
yeah it sucks about the job and haha don't worry about lazy bastard part ...I am a workaholic. I was in a management postion and still was able to lose 60 pounds and at our company usually managers gain weight :) |

CoS is free wthout a cash shop for now. Haven't played it, but it's not bad i guess. Atlantica Online is said to be good, but you gotta like the turn based combat. You can easily get to the endgame in RoM without using cash shop. It's an ok game. Can't go wrong with Guild Wars, it is a buy-to-play, but it's very cheap. "And if they break any of the WoW rules, in my book that's pretty dumb." |

good thing I have all of GW except factions even have the eye of the north thought about going at it with GW....but I never got into the pvp part and I love pvp ...it just seems like I met alot of asses in pvp on my team lol! I remeber being asked to leave one time because hell I just started and they where asking my build and me and this team just won 4 matches in a row but this one guy kept saying please leave please leave....so I did right in the middle of a fight :) |

ROM is a decent game for a free to play, nothin special about it though its just your average MMO. I have been playing it for several months now and only spent $10 to get a horse from the shop, you can get a horse in game but they only last 2 hours so its just easier to buy one. Other then that you dont need to spend any money until you reach max level. |

Ok doing some reading now and am leaning toward ROM for one reason the dual class system....but PW is my style of graphics more but the classes dont seem enticing as much unless they flesh out pretty well...anyone go input on class comparisons. |

Check out Regnum Online. It's set up a lot like DAOC with 3 realm RVR combat. Free and the item shops are reasonable as they don't offer too much of an advantage to those who don't use them. I'm playing now... it's a grind, but it's been fun. The graphics are okay, not great. There is a graphic update coming soon. The devs seem really cool and responsive, but it's a small team so updates can be a little slow coming. Just check it out! |
