Nope, SOE shut the servers down when World of Warcraft also known as Everquest Improved launched.

I disagree with this comment completely. I have played both WoW and EQ, and I must say they are very different games. I wouldn’t classify WoW as an improvement over EQ, or vice versa. There are many pros and cons with both. Also, from what I understand, EQ still has a pretty healthy population on many of its servers. Although WoW still has more subscribers, I don’t think this denotes an improvement in game play, it just caters to a different type of gamer. Generally, from what I have experienced, WoW’s population seem to be more casual where EQ seems to be very hard core. But, that’s just my observation when I played them. It could be different now.

51/50 seems to take the  best part of the game out for me, the low levels.

If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1)

I've been playing on the 51/50 server and it's actually a great place to be atm. The server population is phenomonal, seems almost like the old days. There is never a lack of groups and many many guilds around.

of corse it popular lol !it is the single great game that can be played on netbooks

not a lot of great game can be had for the netbook yet since its anew market

company dont bother dev spacially for them

ok soe does lol they still release expension for everquest 1 since this game will get a second very long life till other

game maker start to do AAA title on  netbook but for now so and very few other like uo maker

upgraded their game to take advantage of the fact that there are not AAA title for netbook

wich is a boon even if ea and soe would never admit it lol

sure soe would have loved in the past to push eq1 plyer to eq2 but netbook changed all that

and if you get issue with netbook having hard time with eq1 i bet soe will be very cooperative (grin)

SORRYSOE EQ1 IS TOO GOOD !it cant die lol.

keep up the good work soe!
