Anyway this message is for WoW players who got fed up with WoW and looking for another game. All I'm saying is just play the open beta level up your character till 20 and then decide. In my opinion this is game just another bad WoW clone which lacks features that made WoW stand up among dozens of other themepark MMOs.

This game is not a WoW clone. it has the most indepth character creator on the market, granted until apb comes out, and you can customize the skills, create your own skill trees, the genre is about superheros.  Its fast paced, the combat system isnt remotely similar.

How the hell can this game be a WoW clone, if anything its one of the few MMOs coming out this year that is bringing new features. If anything, its a fucking city of heroes Clone.

Could you please explain exactly why it's a WoW clone? Quests and soloability does not make a WoW clone. Unless WoW turned into a classless superhero MMO overnight I don't see how it could possibly be a WoW clone.

I've been resubscribed to WoW for a few months now and since patch 3.2 in combination with CO closed beta I just don't have the will to play that game anymore. Although I knew I would quit WoW again because every time I hit "endgame" and do "endgame" stuff I always find it just garbage in that game.

Anyways the game lacks some of the features WoW has like you said, but I'm not looking for a lot of that. for the time being it is refreshing and different in this genre and that alone is fun right now. This may change in the future and i doubt i'll stick with it in the long run, but I think it will still be a fun distraction for a month or two.

If launch is just 2 weeks away then there is no way in hell a miracle patch will happen and fix the game.

But I have to say that CO is pretty stable game my problem isn't about bugs but the features it lacks way too badly.

Let me give you a quick example:

-Take WoW with patch 3.2
-Remove seemless zones of WoW and instead add instanced zones with a maximum of 200 players
-Remove all end-game which nowadays supports every kind of player types; from casual to hardcore raider
-Add unity mission
-Add character customization
-Remove whole customizable UI of WoW
-Add only some sort of scaling and moving bars; which by the way doesn't let user scale fonts so if you are 1650 x 1050 resolution player you will have a baaad baad time baby
-Remove all PvP from WoW
-Add a bleak minigame PvP form called champion games

And here it is, this is the CO for you.

I think you'd also have to revamp the combat system, as CO's is distinctly different and add in stuff like PQ's and the Nemesis system, etc etc...

Bottomline, who cares? If you dont like it, then move on. It's by no means a WoW clone. Yes, some of the base feel of the game is the same as EVERY MMO, not just WoW, but that does not prove equality. Something as simple as the setting of the game wholly sets it apart from WoW for some people.

But you aren't here to discuss the game. You've made up your mind based on a bunch of hugely generic mechanics and now you just want to fling crap around just so people pay attention to you.

Dear Flaming Champtard, Perhaps you are too stupid to realize that except for a few bug fixes, what you are getting in the open beta is what you will get at release. There is not, and there has never been, any  "magic patch" upon release.    Sincerely, an ex-mmo player

hmm... in that case this must be an EQ clone... because WoW took quite a bit from that game.

It is a Wow clone in that sense that Call of Duty 2 is a clone of the game "Civilization" because I install them both with CD-Roms and play them on computers and they have to do with historical time periods.

I am not a Champtard though i have had problems getting into the open beta because of the issues yesterday that were fixed. I am still undecided if im going to play the game or preorder it. I may wait a few months for them to fix the issues at hand. I may preorder and try and help develop the community and try and weedout Flaming Troll WOWTARDS like you. I am still on the fence. I havent followed the game in any way until recently with the open beta. I never got into the closed beta so I didnt bother participating in the community until now. Normally i am really reserved in posting but in the last few weeks i have had enough of your kind. I have had this account since 06. Thats 3 years without posting. I like reading review to help me make my decision, but when more and more of what i read is coming from flamers like you i feel my iq dropping like i just drank a whole bottle of moonshine. They're reproducing like rabbits and appearing everywhere I go. I am currently in development of a game myself. I plan on pitching the game to a major company in the next few months. Is there any way to have a PayPal account setup to have to pay everyone who is a member of this site a fee for each time the term or phrase 'WoW clone' Is used?  That would sure help some games get away from having to live up to a standard that has no equal, nor will it for some time.

No matter how many times this is explained there are so many people who have only had WOW to base their experience on this will happen again and again. WOW is actually the clone and those of us who played EQ, M59, uo, and DAOC, etc know that so why argue. Blizzard combined great ideas into WOW from many games and set the bar for the formula that was already in exisitance.
