I just feel this is another example of terrible communication dev to player base.  I think we deserve more...iam spending my whole day trying to get this to work, atleast i can get a few honest updates.  All I see is them saying it works fine but slow...they seem to turn a blind eye to the fact that almost everyone is freezing at some point.  Iam still not gonna give up, there have been terrible open betas (WoW) that turned out to be good games.

playing: Dragon Age
Waiting: for FF14, Mass Effect
Want to try: Fallen Earth

They tried communication and all they did was give out bad information on how to fix problem. All I hope is someone get fired from making a horrible patcher. You think from years of mmo experience. They should know about huge patches should have many alternative ways of downloading and torrent style of patches.

I understand where you're coming from. More communication is usually a good thing. Last I heard they're looking into which files etc people are freezing on. So atleast they're looking into it.

On a side note, if you press X or F9 on the patcher it should show you the progress of the individual files, gives you something more minute to watch so you can see "Ohh, I got that one donee!!"  well it's something at least.

Bring it on down now.

They've been updating all day...

Rekhan's 4:10 edit:
We've been getting reports of patchers hanging on large files, particularly gameclient.exe and several .HOGG files. If you reach a point where you're more than 90% finished downloading that particular file, do not restart the patcher as it will cause you to lose all the progress on that particular file. Instead, please wait while the server finishes serving the file. This can take upwards of 10 minutes in some cases.

Also, we're currently looking into the issue where the Launcher Autoupdate is hanging. Please be patient as the Launcher works its mojo.

Thanks for your patience, folks!

Hi folks,

I'm seeing a lot of information flowing out there right now.

Here's the deal:

We've pushed a fix to the patcher that will alleviate these problems. All you need to do right now is close, and restart the patcher. If you have done that since 12pm you should be good to go.

The download is going to take a little while. There's a lot of people all trying to patch at once. Please be patient, hang in there, and we'll get you in-game as soon as possible.

Please do not try downloading any fixes from torrents, posted on these forums or elsewhere, or following any advice other than this.

These are not supported by Cryptic, and we can not verify their content. Please only get your patches through the Champions Online Patcher.

Thanks for your patience guys and gals,

Stormshade
