Ive seen this happen with other games a few times now, exactly the same as what has happend tonight. Ive been playing for the last few weeks with no real issues except the odd in game bug or too but i've really enjoyed it and was looking forward to tonight as the last few weeks we have been limited to a few days a week. But tonights mini fiasco is nothing new when you add god knows how many too the mix with file planet and pre-orders, one little mistake in the patch has got out of control with the sheer amount of peeps trying to use it. Ive seen this happen or similar problems at early preview launch with AoC and War - so its time to take a chill pill and try tomorrow, at least its labelled correctly as open beta if it was labelled as early start like war and aoc was then i would be pissed. Sigh. I wish I could join the open beta, so far the patcher just freezes or crashes. I had to reinstall the whole game again, since after the patcher's crash, the client wouldn't start up anymore. I just get a window with a question "Please describe us what happened?" Well, you tell me. I just installed you p.o.s. and you decided not to work? :D So, one more try, then I'm done with the game. Good luck to you guys. :|

Don't give up yet :) They've released a 'manual patch' that allows you to download all the files you need, on fileplanet unfortunatelty. Thre are links all over the CO site for anybody who hasn't seen it yet. The patcher is obviously broken but this is the time to find out - while we're still in beta. |
