re d/l the file planet file, and still getting the 3.6gb patch download.
I am hesitant to jiggle the pigg files.

It is poorly worded instructions. What I did was copy all the hogg files in \Program Files\Cryptic Studios\Champions Online\Live\ to \Program Files\Cryptic Studios\Champions Online\Live\piggs replacing any files that already existed. Anyway after doing that I got a nice drop in download size. Now if only the patcher would maintain good speed for more then 2-3 minutes before hanging...

Thanks for posting the work around. You would think they would put it up on the patcher since the Champions website is down. I have to say this is a bad start, semi vaporware like Dark and Light had better download and patching systems. |

Can I delete the original .hogg files ( the big ones) after having them copied to piggs folder? |

Here's where the fix does nothing for me - I have no huge .hogg files, anywhere in the cryptic directory. Just a few little 65k ones, one thats 90mb, another that's 20mb. Did the patcher delete the big ones? Should I reinstall from the original fileplanet pre-load? I'm afraid to risk that, and lose what little I've already patched. As if it hasn't been said enough already, this is f'n ridiculous.

This is SO friggen confusing. Piggs and Hoggs. Live folder HAS hogg files in it. There is a Live\PIGGS folder thats hogg files in IT as well.
So I have no idea what files to move to the prepatch folder.
How friggin hard would it have been to swap whatever needs swapping in the download on Fileplanet? |

I figured on what the stress test is on: US! - They want to see how stressed out we will get (and then quit) before seeing whatever it is the closed beta testers cannot talk about yet. |

Agreed but this was due to an error in the patcher. Most of that data was already on the PC from the fileplanet installer and didn't need to be downloaded but someone put them in the wrong directory so the patcher didn't see them. That's why it was downloading them all again. Having said that, the performance of the patcher in the download department is abysmal...someone needs to give the hamster a bit more food. |

The /Live folder should have a bunch of large .hogg files in it after running the fileplanet installer. The Live/piggs folder will have whatever you've downloaded so far, unless you made a lot of progress, it'll be far smaller than the /Live folder. The .hogg files in the /Live folder need to be in the /Live/piggs folder so the patcher doesn't go and get them all again. But you must launch the patcher and then quit it before moving the files across otherwise they'll be overwritten.

The CO Client is absolutly the biggest crap i've ever seen... After every 5-10mb the client freez in. Oh hell... |

They've put a 'manual patch' out for download now so we don't have to watch the patcher constantly fail. It is disappointing but it is, also, still in beta. Ironing out bugs like this is what the beta's for. Having said that, distribution of data is pretty fundamental stuff and has been done successfully for many years... |

@Korat Can you maybe tell me, where i can find the manual Patch? I just looked around in the Champions Online Forum, but i dont find anything. Would be very nice if you can link me the Patcher :>
Thanks! cYa |
