I think he's looking for a little more money to take a 2nd trip in space......either way he took a gamble and lost. He put his stamp on the letter or are you telling me he approved it without actually reading it. Case close.

This is kinda old news, it broke several days ago .. there's a thread about it here .. and the complaint document can be found at:

I'm not happy about the debacle of Tabula Rasa and feel that RG sold out .. but if RG can substantiate his allegations then NCsoft is 100% in the wrong so you can't really blame the guy for wanting to reclaim his losses.

The thread you link to only talks about him suing, my find was original...so please stop being an idiot!

@ "Hercules": Necromancer much?

In reply to the topic at hand though, I personally blame the failure of Tabula Rasa on Richard Garriot. He is an idiot and even though NCsoft paid him (40+ million dollars) to be the head developer of TR, he decided to take the money and run off to space with it, creating hype for HIMSELF the whole time, while totally ignoring Tabula Rasa. He even had his own personal little website to brag about being a "second generation astronaught" but he totally refused to even aknowledge Tabula Rasa on this site.

On his personal bragging site I even asked him a question about why Tabula Rasa wasn't getting new content added to it and one of his underlings totally blew it off. That proves to me he never gave half a *censored* about the game and I hope he loses his lawsuit aginst NCsoft and spends a long time in poverty, he deserves it.

This is pathetic. Probably after going to space, he realized it was better to play EVE and surf space that way than forcing himself out of planet Earth! There is no case. I would like to see this in court and laugh hard.

Well, he has right to sue the company, if he think they mistreated him. Let courts decide who was right and wrong. We really do not know the facts.

It is actually funny how much hate there is towards the guy. I respect him for what he did create in the past. If he made few crappy games recently, it really does not matter much. Origin Systems produced some of the best games of their time, few which I played probably before some of you were even born.

You might not like his ego or public image etc., but that really does very little to do with his court case or the games his company designed. Tabula Rasa was failure, but the hate towards it's developer is irrational at best. The same irrational behavior that is rampant against many other game companies that failed to meet standards. I judge things game by game basis. I might respect some companies because they have managed to do good games over and over again - like Blizzard, Bioware, Bethesda and old Origin Systems. But that does not mean that I start hating developers when they make few mistakes...heck you can always play something else.

If he wasn't resigning, then he should have said "No, I'm not announcing shit." and filed his lawsuit right then.

Quoted for truthiness. He screwed himself by releasing that he was resigning. If NCSoft committed fraud, then so did he.

Lord British got to go into space. I'd love to do that, but it'll never happen, because I'm not a multi-millionaire.

As far I am concerned, when millionaires screw each other -  give them rusty straight razors and lock 'em in a squash court. Last man standing wins.
