I know its not music from a game. But we shouldn't be bound by that. If a movie or game or any other form of media has something amazing. why not share it. Ninja Santa |

As far as MMO's go... Stones from UO Outside of MMO's... -Locke's Theme from FF6
But overall, I think I'm going to have to say "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts. There is so much amazing music in video games that this is an extremely hard one to pick... But for some reason, Dearly Beloved just sends a mixed bag of emotions every time I hear it. It's one of those simple yet beautiful songs where you don't know whether to cry or smile when you hear it.

Originally posted by Credinus I'm gonna have to agree with you there. That song is really really good. Since you brought it up, I started listening to it again. I wish i had my copies of the game still. Definitely a couple games to hold on to since they were made very well.

The entire soundtrack to Final Fantasy 6. Well pretty much anything created by Nobuo Uematsu. That man has to be the greatest modern day composser in the world. That man could make Beethoven hear again. |

Some of the soundtracks from games like Halo or even PSP games (Monster Hunter Freedom 2) are really epic. Atlantica online has a good soundtrack but I wish they would have some new ones in there >> |

And finally, my favourite of all time from the original Operation Flashpoint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nY_FuIHH6E

Over the years I've heard many songs that moved me. From the 8-bit era to present day. But one song in particular holds special meaning for me. Before gaming together my wife and I lived happy lives side-by-side. We each had our hobbies and interest. They say you cannot truly understand someone until you've walked in their shoes...well I introduced my wife to PSO for the Dreamcast and she fell hard for it. Instantly understanding why I have such a passion for video games and melting away years of frustration from her. No more fights, no more questions, no more comparisons.
Then they made an announcement for PSO Ep. I&II coming to the Gamecube. My wife quickly prompted me to reserve 2 copies and buy another Gamecube. Then when we finally got the games, we booted up and enjoyed this intro. After that our lifestyles were undisputedly, intertwined as one.......
And that's the reason PSO Ep1&2's intro, to me, is the best ingame song ever created. ![]() "Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas." |

Too many to list for a best. I tried to limit this large list as best I could. Star Wars - Duel of the Fates (Soundtrack) (played while dueling Proxy as Darth Maul in Star Wars: Force Unleashed too besides the movies) Halo Music (Orchestral Halo Theme) Jack Wall- Jade Empire Main Theme Neverwinter Nights 2 - Music Battle Kos (King of Shadow) Neverwinter Nights - Music Neverwinter City Interior Neverwinter Nights 2 - Music Battle Forboss Icewind Dale - Kuldahar theme (music) Phantasy Star II Soundtrack 14 Death Place Baldur's Gate II Dragonbattle Music Bg2 Music - Marching Mountains Heroes Of Might And Magic II OST: Combat 1 Heroes Of Might And Magic II OST: Combat 3 TES: Morrowind Official Theme Song (HQ) I see the "Ere the World Crumbles" track is brought up so I will link a Stygian track. Age of Conan Soundtrack (Track 17) Phantasy Star II Soundtrack 14 Death Place Stage 1: Castlevania (NES) Music Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Music - Requiem for the Gods Final Fantasy IV (II) Music: Prelude Final Fantasy IV (II) Music: Golbez Clad in Dark Final Fantasy IV (II) Music: Zeromus EverQuest II OST - Desert of Flames - Pillars of Flame EverQuest II OST - Desert of Flames - Sinking Sands (about 4:45 I really like) (I see "Lament of the Highborne" was already mentioned) The Church has ever proved indestructible. Her persecutors have failed to destroy her; in fact, it was during times of persecution that the Church grew more and more; while the persecutors themselves,... ..., are the very ones who came to nothing.

Awesome Thread.
I listen to lots of game music.
Final fantasy series has great music
One that always comes to mind as totally epic was the intro video/music to FF8.
EDIT: i will say though, that the Main title for Morrowind may be the best ever! Frank 'Spankybus' Mignone |

Originally posted by Quirhid I've had an mp3 of the Morrowind theme on my various HD's since I first played that game. Absolutely my favorite game song. Probably followed by the theme from Chrono Cross. |
