Hello, I'm a returning player to FFXI starting up on a new account. My old account had a couple of level 75s (SAM and RNG) which I gave away to a good friend of mine. Interested in starting up again but i have a couple of questions i would like to ask to people in the know.
With WotG how easy is it to solo now? Can jobs like WHM solo well? and about what level does leveling solo hit a brick wall if it does. Any tips on a sever that might ease the leveling ( like good AH and community) And are there any great tips for general gil farming, when i used to play I always like to have better than average gear so gil tips would be really helpful in the new AH prices

It's not WotG that makes soloing as easy as it was before, it's Fields of Valor that make it easier. You could solo all the way to 75, although being in a party is always going to be better. If you're starting with no sub job, it's always going to be harder to solo up a mage job with no real melee or magic attacks for that matter. It's all easier if you get a hammer and have a sub to help out. The easy way to solve that though is just to fight easier stuff.
Can't recommend any other server than my own, Kujata. If you happen to go to it, let me know.
Just doing FoV and repeatable quests are your best way to make gil with a new character. I'd say fish, but you have to be over level 20 and have played for at least 2 weeks before you can even do that, due to gil seller countermeasures. Hope that helps.
