Hello people,

i was playing Silkroad Online for about a year, but then my friends left and i did as well.

Now i'm in a lame situation and i have no fun MMO to play.

The problem is that i m looking for a girl friendly mmo,it doesnt mean it has to be anime or something like that, i just want it to be easy to understand and with a decent community.

The game could be P2P or F2P doesnt really matter, but i personally preffer F2P.

Aah yea, and my pc is not that great also.. i heard that i could run World of warcraft and Lord of the rings online without problems but i couldnt run dekaron.

Thanks a lot!

Give Everquest II a try.

It's good a good community, is well polished, and has a wide array of content. You can have everything from solo play to hard core raiding, to crafting, to house decorating.

Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.

EVE online,it will take time to get used to it,but it is girl friendly ... smart girl friendly. It can run very well on even old PCs.

Or you could just try WoW ,either wich,EVE has a 2 week trial or 21 day trial by invite,it takes less then 3 minutes to register ,WoW has a trial program running aswell.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Guild Wars.  Tons of women play that game.  I'd say it's percentage is higher than any save maybe EQ2.

For a newer game, up your RAM and try Aion.  I have 4 gigs, but am running it on an ATi x1400 with a Core 2 Duo laptop, and it looks gorgeous.

P.S i saw an EVE video and i m not sure if i will be able to get used to in the free trials time :D but thanks, i will, of course, give it a try!

i have no idea how to do these things so dont even bother telling me to upgrade my PC ^^ :P

 Hi! :)

Since I'm also a girl, I could give you an honest opinion (more or less). ^_^

I would seriously reccomend playing 'Lord of the Rings Online'. You can get it for cheap (the original game + expansion), the community is just great, lots of friendly people! A big plus is that it doens't take a lot of time to learn how the game works, the quests mostly are all interesting and very story driven, tons of content from simple quests you can do on your own to house decorating. If you're concerned about the graphics, it's way better than WoW's and the art style is also appealing (at least to me it is).

I used to play WoW for over 2 years, it was fun but the grind and the community is what holds that game back. Mostly all of em' are around 11 to 16. Sure you get across some older people but its not that often, where in LOTRO people are very mature and come help you out in person instead of calling you a noob for asking a question in general chat.

Personally you can't go wrong with LOTRO, I think there is even a trial for 10 days, so try that out before you decide.

Hope that helped! ;)

Thanks a lot.

I wasnt expecting an answer from a girl (which means a lot more for me)

I m downloading Lord of the Rings right now.. i think i would like the story as LOTR is one of my favourite movies :)

P.S the story has anything to do with the movie?

LOTRO is a great mmo to play for any female or male. very friendly community and very fun game. the game takes places during the events of the movies.

Without knowing the OP at all,i can only say that i am playing Runes of Magic,it is free in a sense it uses Item mall. Now i can say this for fact, there is a LOT of females playing this game, easily 50/50.It is easy to play as far as the normal stuff goes, because it is basically your WOW/EQ type of game.

Some of the mechanics are very hard to understand, but to the average player, they don't take part in those endeavours, nor do they really need to.

The game does have a few bugs here and there ,some people never see them some see them al lthe time.

BTW i also played SRO for over a year,i just could not take the lack of respect a developer shows towards it's player base,by allowing bots to flourish like they do in SRO and claim to be doing something about it.

FFXI is obviously a very good game for a female player, however it involves a lot of time to play and some things are not very easy to understand like macros, witch are a must in the game.FFXI is a group oriented game that revolves around people helping each other, joining a LInkshell would be a must,or you would have to play the game with friends. There is of course  lots of female players in FFXI as well.

I guess in a sense every game has something a little offbeat from another game,so there will always be something that flusters a person....lol is fluster a real word? :P

My honest opinion is that ROM is FREE,i see many players throughout with normal gear, means they don't use the item mall, and you can solo most of the game. There is ALWAYS people shouting for the quests that needs a group to complete, you just have to keep an eye on the chat box.

Hehe, no problem! :)

Basically it is very story driven via quests and events. The original game 'Shadow of Angmar' takes place right after Frodo and the companions leave the Shire. It progresses through movie/book events, where you and your friends can actually relive some great moments in the books with famous characters like Gimli, Aragorn etc..., I wouldn't spoil too much. You'll just have to find out on your own.

Besides there are fun stuff like, the 'Music System' and 'Monster Play' which is very unique and cool to mess around with. Here's a video to show how deep the 'Music System' is.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me, I'll help you out in any way I can.

Ciao. ^_^

Avoid EVE-Online. I like the game and the universe, but the learning curve is 30 minutes at least. There's so many tools and aspects to the game that its not fast to learn. Everyone else has made decent suggestions.

Hmm.. thats like completely opposite of what i heard..

I heard that the community ROM is just horrible and full of 12 year olds..

I also heard that the developer pays no attention to bugs.

I havent played it so i cant really blame anything.. thats just what i heard!

I am female (more woman than girl at 38, though)... LoTRO is a pretty fun game, so I will second that recommendation. You might also want to take DDO out for a spin too. It's going f2p soon, but they may still have a free trial, if you don't want to wait.

I do not understand why a game that isnt to difficult to learn and has a fun community is a suitable "girl" game..personally I thought those features made it just a good game..

oh and I never tried silk road online..what did you find enjoyable about this..might provide a hint for your next game..

I m sorry.. you got me wrong!

I actually meant girl friendly game not a "girl" game.

And about silkroad.. its a pretty crappy game, but i was playing it because my father and our friends were playing with me, which made the game a lot more fun.

I still personally love Guild Wars and LotrO.  I love the art and music of guild wars. The armor, while not really...customizable and unique, lets you dye it an almost unlimited number of colors.  And that, personally, is just Great!  Cheap game, free to play.

LotrO allows you to create your own outfits, from armor/outfit only items/etc.  You can than also dye them.  The best part is, you can have an outfit shown, but your normal armor is still their. The outfits give no benefits, just so you can look however you wish. Something I just love.  But the music :\ Wish some of the music from the movies were in it. Cheap game, with often having 9.99 a month sales.

I play on Brandywine, if you chose that server, under this name, of course.
