ReBoot was a pretty awesome show though. "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all." - God |

I didn't know TOR was going RMT. Or is this purely speculation? I can immolate it in a wall of flame off my list of games to play if it is. |

To fight a necromancer is to see your afterlife should you lose... |
hmm they *do* need a little bit of tweaking that's for certain.. however, while not perfect they are still better than some other games. >_> <_< ^_^ |

Never lose your way, or someone else might find it |
I agree to the fact the characters, especaily clothing and faces looks disapointing but remember these might be low res copies.. Dont think that with 1680x1024 youl get the same look as with the 1024x640 im hoping their using here... As for KotoR its true that graphics were.. well they were fine, descent for a RPG, not as bad as some of you make it seem, but not exactly Crisis either. From what little I have heard the graphic engine is a modified KotoR one so Id expect it to have similar features.. meaning with low res/lowest graphical settings it looked like that, but with maximized graphical settings and with a good ressolution it looked better, much better. With that said I wouldnt be expecting something revolutionary.

Originally posted by Punkre If you copy WoW, then you make a simple business mistake. Why should I buy your copy, when I can have the original. For less money? There are two groups of potention SWTOR players. Group one is currently playing WoW. They are not going to give up their lvl 80's that they spend years on and say goodbye to all their friends to play WoW with a SW skin. Group two isn't playing WoW, they are not playing it for a variety of reasons. They are not going to suddenly start playing WoW with a SW skin. If they wanted to play WoW, they would have been doing so already. To attract either group, you have to offer something new, something different and directly copying WoW is NOT different and has so far not worked out for any other game. If you are writing a pure clone, then you can only really compete on price. There are plenty of Coca-cola clones that offer nothing different, but they all charge less. Pepsi is about the only one able to charge roughly the same and they do it by trying their hardest to be a bit different. Anyway, I don't think we have to worry to much about SWTOR being yet another WoW-clone. Bioware is not new at making games and they have made a very good living on a genre most others have given up on. They KNOW true story based RPG's still sell. Why would they stop doing what they do best? Bioware don't need to copy anyone. If SWTOR is nothing more then Kotor 3, they got my money. In fact, I will beg them to take my money. Please!

I'm sure they'll improve. The game isn't even in Beta yet. I hate linking this, because it might give some people nightmares, but do WoW Gnomes look like this today?
Of course not. Thank goodness, they'd be picked on even more then they are now. |
