shove it up your ass with your ultra hardcore microtransactioned, terribad horrible graphics, ultra mega shitty game play, wanna be big balling corporate ass.  F2P games are like the boxed wine to a wine connesuir...they are cheap as hell and never give you what you really want...the good stuff.

This is a minor rant that I had late at night after drinking some wine and thinking about how terrible these games have been every time ive ever tried one.

true tho... f2p is for a different crowd of mmo players and usually doesnt even threaten major companies.. so what does it matter? just dont play them.. there for ppl that do like them and like their pennies.

What amazes me the most is the people who dont "pay to play a video game."  If they saved 50 cents a day they could pay to play any mmo out there that has much better graphics, gameplay, and more options than any F2P game will ever offer.  It makes no sense to me.  If someone can afford a computer, a home, power bill, and food to sustain themselves for a whole month how they cannot save 50 cents a day to pay for a better quality of entertainment.

probably because they feel since they had to dish out 50 bucks for the game they don't want to pay the same amount every three months (roughly). you choose between getting a new game every three months (plus one for the original purchase) or the same one for x months. some people just don't think it's worth it.

So what free2play MMO gave you this revelation may I ask?

The last F2P i tried was Atlantica...it amazed the hell out of me how rediculously boring it was and unimaginative.  It's basically a watered down FFVII.  I have tried several F2P so don't say that "oh well you didn't try (insert game here) game.  F2P for me has been the most mediocre attempt at making an MMO.   If i wanted mediocrity I would still be hanging out with the high school jocks that I used to party with all the time.  Wake up and realize that you're playing a terrible game when you could easily be playing a game that is on a whole different level than what you're currently SETTLING for.

excessive negative comments.

I hope your not refferring to yourself as an MMO connoisseur with your boxed wine analogy because if you were this post would have never been made. Sure most of the free games out there blow but not all of them. I have played more than enough free ones and during that time i have only spent money on one of them and i still play that today. And most of those other games i continued to play for a long time without paying a cent. There isnt anything wrong with micro-transactions other than the fact you have to watch yourself pay for something.

/agree with OP

I expect "Gameloading" will be here to defend microtransaction games in 1-2 3...

Haha... great post. In our days of terrible PC and forced niecety, I so agree. They can shove all those damn f2p games where the sun doesn't shine!

All hail to honest word! :D

heh, from reading these forums, name one good p2p worth spending money on =P

I really enjoyed playing some F2P games for short periods of time. Most of the games were nothing that would constitute my MMO of choice, but neither are any P2P.

I agree totally. Fuck these cheese-ball F2P games....all they do is litter up the industry with their cheap trash. Every fucking site I go to has some siezure-inducing flashing ad for some lame-ass F2P cash farm.

It's almost as bad as the goddmn Enzyte and Extenze ads.

If I were unemployed with a family and found myself playing any mmo, I'd be ashamed of myself.  time would be better spent searching for jobs and updating one's skillsets.  taking classes, or working towards occupational certifications.  It where mmo's got their ideas for "the grind" from real life.

Lots of anger on this thread. OP? Could you explain just how much value you expected to get from something that is free? Or does this time of entitlement we seem to be living in include AAA titles at no cost?  Maybe you could man up and drink beer instead of expensive wine then you could pay to play.

I can and DO pay to play.  My choice of drink has not and will not affect my ability to pay for any game I want to play.  I didn't expect anything in terms of value from a free game.  I never said I expected anything and I got exactly what I thought I would get...nothing fun.

I believe a AAA title could be released at no cost if they did the MT correctly.  I was pretty lit when I wrote that but I still agree with every word and I think the quality and image I wanted to paint has been crafted beautifully in my original post.  If you are still confused on any of this please let me know and I will be more than happy to help you better understand what I am trying to convey to the readers.

No its pretty clear. You got drunk on expensive wine and wrote a rant about how FTP games arnt as good as PTP, using a metaphor comparing said games to cheap wine. Good job. Now we all know FTP games arnt as good as PTP and your taste in wine is beyond reproach.

I asked God for a bike, but God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

I see you feel that much like cheap wine, you have not received full value for the hard earned money you bought that FTP game for! Ask the makers for a full refund of your purchase and monthly fee and I am certian they will return your money post haste!

Or, you could remove them from your hard drive, don't download anymore and move on with your otherwise happy and healthy exsistance.
