You're moving I take it... no idea what for. I think the memo got lost in the mail or something... How far are you going anyways? They could always bring it to you one day when you have them visit. She lives with her mom. Despite our differences, my ex is a great mom to my daughter. The fun part will be this weekend, when I get to tell my daughter I'm leaving. And she really is the "spawn of Zorvan". lol My ex hates how much like me my daughter is. |

So you're Amtrack'ing it across the country... sounds like fun. I'm not sure if you're going direct there or if you'll get off and see some sights... if there are any to be seen. My dad was half way across Canada for about 8 months. He went after work and spent the entire time trying to convince me to go as well. I refused outright and soon after the massive demand pretty much went to 0. I'd have arived there just in time to get nothing. Hope this doesn't happen to you. No required quests! I'll actually be working with some of my family there ( as in family business ), so pretty low chance of nothing being there when I arrive, luckily. Be starting out at $12 ( which while less than I made here per hour, it will actually net me more by being steady and having less overhead )an hour and won't have many expenses, so my basic plan is just to work my ass off and save as much as possible for when I come back. I'm really more or less starting new. New line of work, fresh start where nobody knows me and I can concentrate more on myself for awhile. If nothing else, I may just end up being a happier person than I am now ( which benefits everyone around me lol ). Plus, i may be taking an Amtrak there, but i'm riding a Harley back. |

Not much of a Harley person, or a cruiser/chopper person either. I suppose $12/h isn't bad if you have a low standard of living or if things are comparatively priced lower so that the wage is adaquate. I assume you'll be staying with family. If so and they don't charge you rent or if they decide to charge you anything it will be lower then anything you'd pay if you lived on your own then I think you'll be able to amass some decent coin. I think it's a good idea to get the hell out of where you've been for a while. I was thinking the other day and I realized I spent 2/3 of my entire life here in Toronto. I think I need to get the hell out of here and soon... If the economy was the way it was before this downward spiral we're experiencing I think I'd have gotten a work visa and come down to the states, or gone to Australia for a while, spend a year away just to see how the rest of the world lives. No required quests! Yeah, $12 an hour isn't much compared to what 'm used to, but it's basically a "training" or "starter" wage. Easier to get paid to learn than to pay to learn. lol Far as getting away, i'm pretty much the same as you. Been here all my life ( 36 damn years I think a real draw of going somewhere new where I'm not known, is it's a chance to redefine myself, to be whoever I want to be, instead of just how people have come to expect me to be, y'know? Hope that makes sense without sounding neurotic. I don't have identity issues. lol But you kinda get "pigeon holed" or "stereotyped" after being in the same place so many years. You try to change, and everyone wants to know what the hell's wrong with you. And I bet Teala likes Harley's. |

I know what you mean by "pigeon holed". Unlike you though, my attachment to Toronto isn't going to last very long. My parents can take care of themselves as well as any other family members. Pretty soon I think they'll be looking for other places to live even with protests from my parents. They're your traditional European family with the typical mentality of why would you want to leave, you got it good here. I figure as soon as I get my certificate of qualification and actually become a licensed Electrician I'm just going to hit the road. Electricity is the same no matter where you go, only thing that varies is the safety code and that's a minor thing to learn. Thing is, I've been the way I am for a decent ammount of time now and I don't think I'd want to reinvent myself. I just want to give the rest of the workd the oportunity to see what I'm all about. And about Teala and the Harley... I'd be willing to give her a ride on my crotch rocket. All of you can take your dirty looks and cram them. I was talking about my motorcycle... Anywho, I'm going to bed. It's 5:30 am here. No required quests! Being so far away for just a relatively short time if something happens to her is going to kick my ass enough as it is. Just depends on how things go. Maybe I'll be able to have her come stay with me for a couple weeks or so every so often, which would make it a little easier. But she's my only kid, so I'm really kind of attached to her.
