A trailer for version 1.5 of Aion is now available. Version 1.5 is a large upcoming update to the Asian version of Aion, but will also be what US gamers experience right out of the gate when Aion comes out this September.

The trailer features footage of the various new battlegrounds and instances. One such instance, Dark Poeta, is a warped version of the Elyos starting area and requires level 50 players to enter. Another, an instance called "Streelrake Valley" is full of what appears to be cat-like pirates and will also be included in version 1.5.

Since I'm not currently playing Aion, this trailer did little for me. The part where the black winged players were swooping in on the team that was already fighting was cool looking. But the rest of the trailer, what little I know about Aion, didn't make me want to play it any more (or less).

I'd be interested to hear from someone who's currently playing the game if this was big or what.

Pirate cats? every one standing all time same spot when fight? Tis game looks like Lineage 2 update.

Looked like fun to me. Especially the part where the Elyos and Asmodian teams met up. I don't care for pvp but it looks interesting to fight over the higher end mobs. That's where doing major damage as fast as possible will come in handy.

The attack on the pirate ship reminded me a bit of GW, where you would set off a catapult and then it would take out a group of Charr.

All in all, should be interesting.

edit: I just checked the patch notes. Looks like these may be new instances?  Still looks very interesting though. :)

You see a couple of areas morph.  One is a pond-like area and the other is a tree.  These are in the levels 1 - 10 areas, and it looks like NCSoft is progressing the story that we're now playing through in the beta.  The tree is part of the Elyos quest that leads to the flash back cut scene and consequently getting your wings at level 10.

The story line thus far is that players are attempting to stop a group / groups from opening abyss gates and letting the balur / dragon things through.  From the look of things that doesn't work out too well.

More cutesy anime where men look like women and women look like children.  No thanks.  I've long been over Mario, Link, and Princess Peach.

The trailer is really cool from the perspective of an Aion player.  They are new instances that are being added to more flesh out the last ten levels of Aion and increase the endgame experience. 

Aion is PvPvE where E is the Balaur in the Abyss.  They show up at random during sieges and assist random sides or attack both sides.  The Dredgion is a new instance which is on board the ship they fly in to the sieges on which is shown towards the end of the trailer.  Very cool looking instance and i'm excited to hit it up.

Another cool thing is the instance is a full party from each side competing while trying to defeat the boss.

Then there is the Shugo(Cat things) pirate ship instance for PvE.  Also the instance where it goes from light to dark is an early Elyos instance.  This is a large instance and it kind of reminds me of Dynamis from FFXI where the cities had demons running throughout for higher level players.

Then in each fortress in the Abyss if your side holds it there are instances within it.

Most of these instances are scored based on your teams performance and based on that score some bosses may change, and also your Abyss point rewards change.  Abyss points are used to get Abyss gear among various other things.

It's a really cool trailer and update.  I am glad NA version launches with it.

This is an amazing game..

the movie basically shows "some" not all of the new instances including the one new pvpve instance which is basically a mix of pvp and pve instance that is shared by the opposing faction your goal being to kill the third factions main boss while fending off the other side.  It shows some of the new armors as well.  It's definitely exciting for Aion players.  Still it's the tip of the iceberg if you really want to know what's coming look in the notes.

Looks great ty for the link. Worst part of this game is the down time between betas.

Yeah pretty sad. No bunny hopping and i didnt see a single motorcycle, i mean, WTF?
