I played 2 weeks ago and everything seemed very quick and responsive. I fired it up today and it seems like there is extreme lag. I am talking about 5-10 second lag and on top of that it seems like half the time I have to push a button multiple times just to get it to do anything. While running it sometimes jumps me back to where I was 5 or 10 seconds before. I tested my internet ping and it is around 40ms. Not sure how to see my ping in Aion. Not sure if anyone else is getting this. In other games my internet seems just fine.

I was lagging horribly first 3 hrs of play on friday. Its been running smooth for me ever since. I attribute my problem to perhaps a lot of people d/loading the latest patch when beta first started. Beta boards are reporting lag, best thing to do is post your server, country and area there so they can perhaps see whats up.

It has to be true, i have internet links.

Variety is the spice of life, unfortunately, it's also the bane of balance.

I was actually having quite a bit of lag too, although I wasn't sure if it was due to the game servers or my wireless connection.

Just because YOU had lag doesnt mean you need to infer in people the idea that it is a lag filled game, which it is not. I have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER had a lag problem and I have played in 3 betas.

Lag is kinda present for some since CB4, especially on the first day. Since it's not everyone that has lag, it's probably some kind of bottleneck routing issues so it'll be tricky to spot them all.

Damn the hype burst about Aion when people began playing at started to spread the news about the game, I hope either NCSoft sorts it out or that the excess of people quit playing and go troll forums so we can play smoothly.

The lag was really horrible on Friday when the servers first went up but were bearable after a couple of hours

If you check out the Aion beta boards you will see he isnt the only one with problems. Calm down i like the game too but denying problems isnt going to help the devs fix things which is what beta is about.

when X-Thousand amout of people are logging on and sarting off at the same time, then yes you will get lag.  Stess tests

Either way after the first few hours the lag went away.. i have never played a game this polished at "launch" (i know i know its been out a while elsewhere)

I had no problems with lag in three days playing this weekend but I did have a decent amount of rubber banding (the going back a few steps as you called it OP).  Not terribly bad with that to where it really affected gameplay though.

Wow, some people are new to the internet and mmos.

I also didn't have any lag, playing from Europe on the US servers. And I have also been playing on the Chinese servers for a couple months now. Never had any lag; I think this is quite impressive considering the distance.

Other people not having any lag confirms that this isn't a problem with the game. The problem is a bottleneck somewhere on the route your internet connection is taking to the servers. The other people experiencing the same trouble as you are probably routed through the same bottlenecks.
