I guarantee you the difference between a 6 and a 7.4 is whether or not the reviewer gets into a good clan. Your clan is everything in this game, and will directly impact your ability to experience the higher level PvP and sieges. A good one will also expose you to the nuance of tactics and teamwork, as opposed to the typical zerg guild where they just tell everyone to mount up and ride to a single location.

 Great that does really make things alot clearer, from the fans of this game, DFO is NOT a sandbox game, its just a FPS with RPG elements the only way toplay the game is join a clan and pvp, thats the only thing we can conclude from this thread other than that the review is pretty ridiculous.

Not much to comment really; he said it all in the beginning,

"Thus in Darkfall you are, as in EVE, a potential victim wherever you go, or else on the hunt for one."

This is the best description for a MMOFPS.

So can we finally admit its not a sandbox and just a combat sim now please. Since the ONLY way to have fun is join a big clan and zerg people.

Seriously...you could produce a review that gave the game 10/10 and it still wouldn't make the game any good.  The word is out from the people flocking away from the game, that the game may be fun for a short while, it has no lasting appeal and a community that wouldn't look out of place in a remake of 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'.  It's not a good game, it's half-assed mess made of badly executed but potentially interesting ideas.

This game isn't like a gyroscope...no matter how much spin you apply, it's still going to fall over.

Yeah and by this time Adveturine realized that they need to pay of reviewers to get a good rating. I mean the first rating it got was 4 and then a few weeks later a 6 and now 7.4.  So much BS i am never going to play the game nor read any more retarded threads about nr 42049240 reviews about Darkfall. They even got a spybot on their website to sniff emails to send out info to people that visit the website, I dont like being forced to do anything. Did they change all the Autoskilling and cheats that was in the game a few weeks ago? If not why bother.

Well, its pretty obvious the reviewer went into the game "wanting" it to succeed, therefore its totally predictable that he's willing to overlook shortcomings that others won't in order to enjoy the features that the game offers vs other games.

I do get tired of endless comparisons to EVE, DF is almost nothing like EVE other than they both have PVP and looting.  Otherwise they are so disimmilar its almost not worth comparing them outside perhaps the large alliance combat.

Great segway, it appears to me that author of the article based his review on what he's read about the metagame, and not at all based on anything he actually experienced.  I doubt he sieged a single thing, he just read about it and it appeals to him.

Also, while almost every score in the review was under 7.4, somehow "longevity" with an 8.9 (like you can tell this how?) drags it all up by a huge amount.

As always, the reviewers expectations/hopes and dreams improved the score just as other reviewers have dragged the score way down on their own expectations.

This is game is a 5-6 in any normal universe, regardless how the rest of reviews come in.

Hmm... the reviewer think Darkfall is as good as Blood Bowl (7.2) abnd far worse than Football Manager Live (8.1) and Empire Total War (10.00)

PS:  He rates longevity an 8.9?  If the magority of people quit after a month or two, how does the game offer any longevity?  Especially when he says it's lacking the features that the masses come to expect.  Those features are what gives a game longevity.  It's called content.

Ha.  Same reviewer gave LOTRO 8.8, Warhammer an 8.6, AOC an 8.2.

Now, the first I can agree with.  But according to this reviewer, AOC and WAR are better games.

So that where Tasos went for the past 11 days to pay off the other reviewer..Its to late now the game suxs.There nothng in DF to keep any player happy..Oh hell here's a review..I rate the Darkfall forum as a 10/10 its more entertaining than the game it self..

I remember discussing this part  the first time this review was posted here.

We concluded that the reviewer has longevity and development time confused.

They also gave PotBS a 1.0.

Now, I am not saying PotBS was/is a great game, but it isn't a 1.0 either.

Whoa wasn't one thread about the same strange review enough? The first savior of Darkfall already posted the review about half a month ago.

Was this just because mmorpg.com recently gave Darkfall a review that it deserved, one of the worst ratings of all games on this page?

Equally which review will be pulled it can not make Darkfall better than it actually is. I don't understand for what reason you are still trying to convince people that Darkfall much better than all the reasonable reviews and comments of critical players showed before but this may remain your secret.
