Gates of Andaron is a new MMOG developed by Zemi Interactive, and published by Gameforge. Andaron is a client-based fantasy MMOG set in the world of Iberia, a land ravaged by conflict between the kingdoms of Valorian and Derion.
Players will play as either humans, felines, or fairies, and choose to ally themselves with either the Valorian or Derion kingdoms in the ongoing conflict. The game features a robust PvP system where players can earn honor and achievement points used to spend on additional upgrades for their characters. Additionally, Gates of Andaron also allows players to create their own armor and other items, with the ability to spruce them up with extra visual effects or character augmentations. Great, another game were I get to play human. I play human every fucking day and I don't care for most of the cement heads I run into in real life. Another pos with zero originality; just what the genre needs... It's a simple world for complicated people! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. |

Well.. i am level 3 already, game is really nice, very polished and works good. I dont understand the hate, when that game looks close to WoW but is free... some peoples will apreciate it for sure. |

Screw Gameforge. They were the previous owners of Ryzom who bought it after it bankrupted for pennies, then did NOTHING, added NOTHING, advertised NOTHING, said NOTHING, and let Ryzom die yet again because all they wanted was a write off for their fuckin' stupid text based games. You guys want shitty customer service and a "fuck you" attitude? Just wait 'til you try Gameforge. |

With maybe 2 or 3 exceptions, i've played very few F2P games that have not been blatant WoW clones. These types of games are what give F2P mmo's a bad rap as being shallow, unoriginal and generic. (aka crappy) Kudo's to games like Dofus, GhostX, Lunia, and Mabigoni for being original and well developed. That said, i'm mostly a P2P gal myself. I find them to be typicaly of better quality. Sadly still, even in P2P games, only a few are not blatant WoW clones. |

Many terms are overused in the MMO lingo. Sadly, WoW clone is not one of them. It's extensive use is completely justified in the majority of cases. There just has been such a lack of originality since WoW's success, (as always, with a few exceptions) it's left many MMO gamers understandably tired and jaded. Before WoW, most MMO's were unique. That being said, I think we may see a corner being turned with games like SWTOR and FF14 on the horizon. We can hope! |

Some things ARE similar, but then again it's not similar to just WoW. I've seen a game that looked EXACTLY like WoW and had these things added everywhere like a private server of WoW. Forgot its name and I can't find it using Google. That's probably the only game on Earth deserving the title "WoW clone". I'm just cool like that. |

I just feel like 4 story a.k.a. Gates of Andaron thinks that we are so dumb that if they change a name we will think its a new game. The website for the 2 games is the same , the graphics are the same, and I'll probably make a good guess in saying the story lines are the same. The should just name the game Gerber cause all I see it attracting is MMO noobs who dont know this is a 3 tier ripe-off of other games . Soryy if this is a little long it just makes me mad that companies care so little about customers that they dont even try. Maybe next we will get a Gates of ..er...what name did we choose this week...? |

I can't believe how many of you morons think this looks ANYTHING like WoW. I played retail WoW for six months before I decided it became more chore than game and I played this game to lvl 10 on two classes and believe me that's quite some time. Entirely two different games...how obvious. So stop your 10 word posts about "it looks like WoW QQ" and move on, troll elsewhere. Besides if it didn't disconnect me because network errors (game's fault) about every other hour it would be much nicer than WoW. Played and liked but quit: WoW, Rappelz, Last Chaos, Warhammer (trial) I actually didn't expect to be Black... |
