Yeah...I don't get the support some are giving to the OP and the negativity against posters that replied promptly without being rude..Several brief answers were given that resolved the OP's problem...and negate his complaint. then OP just goes on to say his main complaint was GM ignoring the problem and that some players don't know what to do so support should assist. I have both a virtual and paper manual that clearly tells me the function of crouch...as well as the info..plain as day..in the skills window. Unless the OP is illiterate...which I find doubtful having written the post and replied to other posters,,,then it should have been easy enough to use the ability to read...and carry it over to the manuals or skill window in the games U.I. Instead..he counters various replies apparently righteous in his ignorance and that the GM should spoonfeed him info for a problem that really wasn't one. Prompting additional flaming posts from others...perhaps unnecessary...yet , in a way and imo, justified. hic!...CAW! |

I mean blaming funcom because you upgraded your comptuer so you could play dx10 is kinda absurd if you ask me. I am a video game junkie and I would never buy hardware because of a certain game. There is just to many games out there to enjoy, especially with DX10. It's not absurd, "many" ppl ungraded their machines or purchased new rigs to play AoC. Remember the infamous " AoC is steak" comment, next gen. mmo, dx10 compatible, huge ad campaigns and the like. Since almost all MMOs up to that point didn't require powerful rigs, most ppl knew if they wanted to play AoC they were going to have to upgrade. |

It was the incentive to do so i upgraded power supply 2 new video cards, upgraded to vista homepremimum and had best buy install the sutff. I bought the collectors edition and 6 month game time. I got a perma ban about 4th or 5th week after launch and it was my first post on the forums. I also did not get smart or snotty. I just said looking at the collectors edition box it stated that dx10 was ingame and i believe it was turned off not sure but if it was not inteneded to be in at launch why was it listed on box. That was it and post did not last 2hrs before it was pulled and i was banned. I was so mad i just uninstalled and from that point on i point out what i think is wrong with Funcom and Aoc when i think it is being hyped or others are asking questions. I am always respectful and stay on topic. Oh i forgot i either went to 2gigs of ram or to 4gigs i think i went to 4 gigs not sure and the best buy recite is buried somewhere. |

I don't think it's absurd unless he spent that amount of money just to play AoC and no other games. Updating your computer for such an amount without knowing if the game you are going to play will be any good is like buying stocks with blindfold on. You can be lucky and get a winning combination, but you can also risk to have wasted a lot of money on a new computer you will not be using for other games. Blaming funcom for spending money on a computer is like blaming the police for giving you a speed ticket, you took the risk with upgrading your PC just like you took with driving too fast. If it costs more then it tastes you can only really blame yourself and take it as a hard learned lesson and move on. |

I was logged on when the OP went threw his "issue" he did indeed mention it in Global, and was indeed given the work around, he was also bashed. The global chat is super entertaining, even if at times offensive, even for me. Whatever is happening in that channel, AoC doesn't really care, this much is very obvious. I'm a new player, not a MMO noob, but they are in sore need of many upgrades with basic direction/grind/and LFM, in this game. The core mechanics of playing and so on, are relatively fun, and addicting, even though I wish I could move and cast. (Playing a ToS) I haven't seen the end game play out, and I'm struggling to make that happen. I know how it feels, having done everything in a MMO, and just waiting to get out, move on, and it definitely feels like this is the case for most vets still logging on, as there is constant chatter about other games, and the problems with this one. I can see why the OP got bummed, the global reaction, and the persistence of the peeps blocking him, IDK, it was dumb. But, then again, you only have what you have, and this is what you have right now in AoC, I'm sure there is plenty of cool people playing still, they really haven't been to vocal, and were nowhere to be seen when this was going down. To the OP, unfortunately you don't deserve any special treatment, this is the treatment the people who own and run this game feel is acceptable, if you feel its below acceptable, then I wish you the best of luck!
anyways, blah blah. |

No i did not try to contact them i was to mad. Playing online games is my hobby now so i would have to say i did not upgrade to just play Aoc but i bought into the hype and the first day collectors edition was sold i bought it like 3 or 4 months before launch thats how good i thought the game was gonna be. I learned a good lesson and do not believe any hype now on any game even if blizzard said god was coming i would want to see him myslef first. |

AoC customer serviced ignored you? Wow that's a first. That was probably the biggest reason I cancelled my account when the game went live. I lost gold when I mailed it to another character, using the in-game mail system, and the GM's simply ignored me. They have the WORST customer service ever. |

If his machine didn't meet min. requirements to run AoC he had to upgrade, its not absurd. With the NDA being enforced till release most ppl only had what Funcom told them about the state of AoC, and that is what ppl went by. We can debate if he should have "believed" what Funcom advertised before launch and we can debate about all MMO being crap on release all day, but thats for another thread. :) |

Summing up the last couple of threads, the largest complaint is now that funcom lied at launch, my class isnt oped and should be, my rig cant run aoc well, customer support didnt respond quick enough. Sounds like the game itself isnt the major issue anymore. |
