Only a fool hates that which he knows nothing about

The first part can be read here:thepriorart.wordpress.com/2009/07/24/re-reviewing-age-of-conan-part-i-the-game-the-world-the-graphics/

There is the good and the bad and a nice wishlist I agree with too.

This is from a PvP'rs perspective. If played a while ago and are interested in coming back the author puts out some very good points to be aware of.

There is more to come, as a snippet I will just paste the conclusion:

Rating & Conclusion
No review is complete without a nice number to go with it. As this is my first review on this blog let me first establish a few criteria:

Graphics – Graphics quality and the appeal of the art style
Ambience – The general ‘feel’ or ‘atmosphere’ of the game. In the case of MMORPGs: the game world is the strongest influence on this index
Gameplay -
Sound Effects -
Music -
Here are the scores I gave AoC on each of this, with a final score which is not necessarily an average:

Graphics: 9/10
Ambience: 6/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Sound Effects: 8/10
Music: 9.5/10

FINAL SCORE: 8/10 GREAT
There you have it. Age of Conan has certainly changed for the better, and I hope to report back with Part II of my ravings in the coming weeks. I know this review has been extremely lengthy, but I wanted to cover a lot of basics and talk about what this game once was so I could better represent what it has become and where it’s going. Any other game review would have been easier and shorter, but AoC is a rather complex game with a complex history, and a few simple comments would have done it little justice."

Check it out from the link above. I think a killer for this guy was the poor performance from his laptop initally.

Graphics: 7/10 (complex but no so pretty imo)
Ambience: 4/10 (instances kill this)
Gameplay: 5/10
Sound Effects: 8/10
Music: 9/10 (almost perfect)

Total 6/10

Why is it sad? It is just his opinion and based on well thought out points.

You should add another measurement to the scoring criteria.

Interest after leaving:  10/10 (This sucka can't be beat )

I don't know what this PriorArt-site is or if 'reviews' there have any weight. It may be a bleeding gap in my common knowledge, but to me it is completely unknown.

Therefore i find it funny that any negative review always gets comments like "that site there is of absolutely no relevance to the gaming world" or "the author of that article is a no name" and such. But on the other hand i see you coming up with every slightest positive note from whatever blog somewhere in the depths of the internet, written by any Joe Somebody to promote your favorite game with -as if that blog entry has any more meaning.

Actually I was reading it from a link from a well known Sin website / blog. Was being talked about in the community and linked in game too.

Regardless of where it is from, the content I feel is quite accurate and offers some nice insight for returning people based out well layed out thoughts and described experiences more than 3 lines about the game.

Coupled with the author's hindsight for added clarity too.

Coming from any name website doesn't mean the review holds weight of any kind compared to this one for example when it boils down to it.

Would you care to comment on the actual content? Or do you want to take the topic off topic?

What is this some kind of joke?

Since when were bloggers a reliable source of gaming reviews.  How about a credible source, for all we know Craig wrote that blog himself.  If this blogger gave AoC an 8 out of 10...that must mean a real critically acclaimed mmorpg like WoW must be a 10123189419864 out of ten.
